"Thank you, Yelpers, for this fantastic find! This restaurant serves up delectable noodles inspired by Southeast Asian cuisine. We ordered the Fried Tofu, which came in a generous portion with at least a dozen pieces. Each piece was stuffed with ground fish and accompanied by a very spicy sauce, along with a sweet, thick soy sauce. We also tried the Star Noodle special, which is a soupless dish filled with vegetables, mushrooms, BBQ pork, fish balls, and egg noodles. I found this dish a bit bland on its own, but it complemented the sauce from the fried tofu perfectly. The Chicken Bihon stir fry, similar to vermicelli, was not greasy at all and packed with flavor. There's even a small grocery section in one part of the restaurant, featuring snacks, drinks, and spices. I will definitely be back soon to sample more dishes!"

The noodles were the most flavorful I've ever had! The empanadas were incredibly delicious too. Food rating: 5/5.

Absolutely amazing! This is a must-try whenever I'm in the area. I highly recommend the chicken noodle soup with mushrooms, especially when paired with their incredibly spicy hot sauce!

I ordered the number 1 combo, and it arrived quickly and was quite tasty. However, I strongly advise against ordering the smoothies. I paid $8 for an avocado smoothie, but it was completely frozen and obviously pre-made from the freezer. It had a strong, unpleasant smell from the oxidizing avocado, which was absolutely disgusting. I couldn't even drink this frozen block of ice. View menu

The best fried noodles in town are number 12! I'd go as far as to say they're even better than similar dishes I've had in Hong Kong, whether Indonesian or Chinese style. The chicken satay is also fantastic, featuring a slightly charred finish, tender thigh meat, and a delicious peanut sauce! However, the sticky rice was just okay—it lacked the ideal texture and didn't have enough coconut flavor.

Typically, frozen items are vacuum-sealed, but now they come in a delicate box that can easily break. I prefer buying frozen products because I like to transport them from LA to NY, as I don't live in LA. However, since they are now packaged in a plastic container that's prone to breaking, I'm concerned that the pieces might get mixed in with the noodles. I'll have to reconsider my purchase next time.

This restaurant offers one of the most unique flavors of Chinese-Indonesian noodles. The taste is incredible! Although the bowl may appear small, it is bursting with flavors and ingredients. The noodles are cooked to perfection, with a delightful al dente texture, and they are prepared fresh to order. My personal favorite is the classic #1 on the menu. While the other noodle dishes are also enjoyable, there's something about #1 that evokes fond childhood memories of warm noodles on a Sunday morning. View menu

I absolutely adore this restaurant! During our week-long vacation, we dined here three times. The food is amazing, and our standout favorite was the Nuoc Cham Chicken. The location is lovely, providing a beautiful view of the ocean. Just a heads up, parking can fill up quickly, but it seems acceptable to park at the mall across the street. I recommend making a reservation, as we were turned away on one occasion. Sometimes in the evenings, they open the roof, so be prepared for some tree debris to fall onto the tables. The only real downside is that they haven't opened more locations; we were really hoping to find one in Southern California. Come on, Star Noodle! Don't make us wait until our...

"Hate to write this review but our service was one of the worst I 've ever gotten. Our reservation is at 7pm and didn 't get seated until 7:20pm. We had an older lady who gave us a menu and didn 't come back until 7:50pm. Noted we didn 't get any water or bread while waiting. Finally we put in an order and appetizers did not arrive until 8:15 (30 mins+ . Then entree did not arrive until 9pm. It 's been two hours at this point! We quickly ate and just wanted to get out of there as desserts would prob been another 30 mins. Worst of all, the older lady who I felt bad for, was condescending and rude. She would talk to all other tables and did not check in nor acknowledge us throughout the meal. Someone else came to refill our water, gave us more bread. I had to ask the other person that I wanted dessert to go since she was too busy chatting with another table for at least 10 mins. When she finally came to us she got upset and said you shouldn 't have told them you want dessert to go well okay I wouldn 't if you were non existent for the past two hours and I needed SOME service. Customer service was the worst, and you think the food would make up for it. However this is worst than Outback Steakhouse, the steak was dry and covered in a cream sauce. For this price I rather go to a more reputable steakhouse, they cannot say they are a long institution and think it 's an excuse for bad food and service. We 've been to Musso and Franks and Lawrys multiple times and both have been around for a long time, but at least their service and food match their reputable name. Save yourself the headache."

"My server returned shortly after to take my meal order. She paid great attention to my preferences and repeated my order back to ensure accuracy, which I appreciated. I ordered a half rack of baby back ribs with sauce on the side, a baked potato with butter and bacon bits (if they had them), and some coleslaw. To my delight, dinner arrived just 11 minutes after I ordered and matched my request perfectly! The food was fantastic! The ribs were cooked just right, easily sliding off the bone and bursting with delicious, charred flavor. The side sauce complemented them perfectly. The "bacon bits" on my baked potato were actually two thick strips of bacon—no complaints whatsoever! The coleslaw was tangy and creamy, exactly how I like it. Throughout my visit, the service was exceptionally attentive. I received frequent offers for water and tea refills, and various staff members checked in to ensure everything was satisfactory. I give them an A+ for customer attentiveness. The meal's price was quite reasonable for the quality and portion size I received, and I was glad to have chosen this place over a typical chain restaurant for dinner. It was my first time in Monrovia and my first dinner out in the area, and it certainly did not disappoint. Well done, Jake’s Roadhouse! I'll definitely be returning. Thank you, and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!"
