"The vegan appetizers at this restaurant include seaweed salad, edamame, and shishito peppers, which are pretty standard options. None of the entrees or rolls are labeled as vegan on the menu, but the Haru roll can be made vegan by substituting the soy paper for nori due to the soy paper containing egg. Despite confirming twice with the server, my Haru roll still came out in soy paper, though they did remake it. Having non-vegans dining with me helped prevent the other roll from going to waste. Overall, I found the experience to be lacking in vegan options and confidence in ordering vegan food. Additionally, adding lettuce to a $14 veggie roll seemed like an odd choice to me. None of the desserts were vegan, and I wasn't impressed with the cocktails for the price. The loud music made it difficult to hear my dining companion, and I personally don't plan on returning due to the overpricing and lack of vegan-friendly options."

Was expecting a bit more based on other reviews. Sushi was so so, some unusual dishes, but nothing super spectacular

Awesome as always! It was kind of gloomy outside but they accommodated us at a high top near the bar. Food and service here never disappoints!

our first visit to O-Ku was wonderful! our server was amazing and eating was creatiw, fresh and tasteful. Must-try items are the thai me up cocktail, the Wagyu-Tetare, the yellowtail crag, the lemon salmon maki and the house donuts. will come back for another visit asap! View menu

I made reservations for our 5th anniversary. the ambiente was great. they sat at a small stand away from the regular tables for some private sphere, so we appreciate that. our server was very attentive to us. they brought us a few bubbles to celebrate, and then we got free dessert at the end. we enjoyed eating, but we thought it was a bit too expensive for the price compared to other places that served qualitatiw high quality sushi.

Came here for a end of the work week date night. We are big fans of sushi and this place does not disappoint. From ambience to service this place has it all. Our server had great recommendations from sushi rolls to sake. We recommend the roll with Squid ink rice as it?s something you will need to experience. Also the salmon and lemon roll had an amazing amount of flavor. I highly recommend going here they even have omakase if you want to ball out like jay z.

A couple and a dog walk into a bar...but this was no joke. My wife and I wanted a nice, classy night out last night and chose O Ku as we have been several times and like it. It's expensive but an upscale place or so we thought. We were at the bar, waiting on our food when a couple walks in with a dog. Yes, a dog...and not a service dog, which we'd have no problem with. They sat at the bar right next to us and held the dog in their laps. The dog's paw or tail hit me View menu

Overall experience quite good. We enjoyed our food and the ambience. Server was fine, but I was hoping for a little more expertise and confidence from waitstaff in an upscale sushi place. More menu training might be helpful. Breakdown of what we ordered: -Seaweed salad: tasty and refreshing. -BBQ pork buns: heavenly. -Curry noodle: rich, complex broth. Enjoyed. -Angry salmon: other rolls were purchased at the table, but this was the favorite. Good heat and flavor. I can

We have been to 3 Oku locations so far and Raleigh?s location has been the disappointment. We weren?t greeted then they couldn?t find our reservation and although I showed them my open table reservation they keep wanting to check it on my phone over and over. Once they saw my frustration they said they will find a table. We ordered the spicy aioli shrimp for appetizer it was ok nothing special they were tad over cooked. We ordered 2 specialty rolls but the rice on both was

"I've been to the new Irregardless twice now. Once for a rather disappointing late brunch and a second time for a fabulous welcome back to town dinner. Their prices have definitely risen to The point where I won't be able to visit as much as I used to (and they also don't know what Eastern versus Western BBQ is, but I won't hold that against them). They're very conscious about vegan options and the dishes are still as high quality as I remember them being under the old management. Disappointed not to see any Raleigh brewing on the draft menu but the drink menu was very good. I got the most expensive vegan option of course. A North Carolina BBQ prepared maitake mushroom on mashed potatoes with a gorgeous, perfect amount of broccoli. Now the fiction kitchen has an Eastern BBQ plate which I love So I was very surprised when it showed up with a ketchup/tomato-based sauce. It was delicious Even though it was a western NC style barbecue sauce. Haha (My mom got the salmon The time blackberry cheesecake was divine. I hope they keep that one around because I'm definitely coming back for another slice. I'm happy to report that the staff are excellent, warm, friendly, and professional. Our waitress was friendly and delighted to answer all of our questions since we hadn't been for dinner yet. Brunch, the music was a little loud and by the time we actually got a table they were out of everything we wanted to order which is a little disappointing and speaks to poor planning. We did get was small but delicious. Not sure I would try brunch again unless I was really hankering for their brunch specifically and if so I would get a reservation a week ahead of time. As a person who's gone to this specific restaurant for over 2/3 of their life, I'm just glad that it's still exists and is in such good hands. I just hope they read up a little bit more on barbecue in North Carolina. And make more vegan things"
