"Enjoyed our dinner at Panico's Bistro. Beautiful interior with high ceilings and windows. Loved the color scheme and set-up of the room. Began with the Caesar Salad, which was good, but would have been better with less dressing. Our margherita pizza was tasty with a very crispy crust, delicious sauce and fresh basil. I wish they would have waited until we were finished with our salads before serving the pizza. Next time, I'll request they don't put the order in right away, so we could have more time to enjoy the bread, salad and wine beforehand. The table near us ordered some pasta dishes which looked yummy! All in all, a good dinner with attentive service and relaxing ambiance."

The food is great. It is rather loud in there or else i would have given the ambience a 5. They have the best octopus! 4 people all had a good meal. A salad and one appetizer came to 170$. It is a byob

Our dining experience at Panico's was wonderful. The meatballs were the best I've had, the pasta sauce was very flavorful and the eggplant pesto entree was excellent. The menu was varied to please all diners.

Great dinner...I had the Sunday Dinner which includes Meatball, sausage and roast pork with pasta and my wife had the shrimp, crab with garganelli...both dishes were excellent and we took enough leftovers for another meal!! BYOB too!!!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Panico's. Our server, Donna, did an excellent job and was very attentive. The food was delicious. The noise level was a bit on the higher side, but I understood that it was in a renovated church. I would certainly recommend this restaurant.

The gnocchi 1st course was superb, as our waiter, Gleb, recommended. The mozzarella fritas were very good. The whole branzino was excellent. The nutter butter dessert did not have much flavor. Ambience inside did not mirror the former interesting church exterior which was old and quaint

Excellent food, generous portions, reasonable prices. While not training to be a “five star,” as others in the high price range in Cape May, it's at the top of its field at what it does. Great food, creative, good service, interesting ambiance in a converted church. And the staff definitely knows what they are doing and are friendly. View menu

We've been visiting Panicos for many years, but we were disappointed during our most recent visit. The rigatoni with vodka and chicken was not up to par; the chicken pieces were large and overcooked. It would be better if they used smaller slices. I didn't find that the fried basil enhanced the flavor at all. The pizza was just okay and slightly overcooked as well. On the bright side, I would definitely return for the house salad.

We waited a half hour for our reserved table to be ready. Half of our table was seated on a bench connected to the wall. We were a table of nine. My son, husband and I sat on cushions that did not provide any support. Rather we sunk so low that the table was too high for each of us to properly eat our food. It was uncomfortable and unexceptable. We couldn't understand why they have kept this bench for seating. Chairs would work fine, just like the table that was immediately to my right.

"I used to deliver for this place and I was very close with the head chef, who is a very passionate man when it comes to his profession as a Chef and head cook of this restaurant/kitchen side of the Restaurant and Pizzeria. You see, there 's two sets of doors for this fine establishment.Okay, technically, there are 3 sets of doors that are open to the public to enter and exit! The restaurant side doesn 't open until later in the day, obviously. However, when you walk into the restaurant, it 's like you 've entered an entirely different place! The atmosphere is immeasurably different from that of the Pizzeria on the other side with its booths and pizza window! However, I must add that as a full-time resident of this fine town? It 's not quite what it used to be. Maybe that might change since spring has picked up, and summer will be in full swing before we know it!The pizzeria is busy during all seasons! The restaurant does have an amazing N.Y. Strip Steak and a brilliant rib-eye if I 'm not mistaken! Then their seafood is apparently delicious! I 'm biased since I 'm not big on seafood. But it does look good! All-in-all, I 'd recommend trying the pizza at least once!Their specialty pizzas are good. They have a very good white cheesesteak pizza, too. Oh! Their white pizza, in general, is amazing. I used to take some home after my shift. I 'm weird, though, so I 'd throw some pepperoni and pineapple on it before heating the slices. This is a place you need to try for yourself to have a decent opinion. The pizza is great. They even do parties and cater to parties. I 'm quite certain to an extent. Okay, I 'll end here since I left a mino-novella! ?"

"Updated review from 2023: Since our first visit to this restaurant in 2019, we have returned each year following. They added Ooen Table for setting reservations and we've not had an issue getting a seat since. I would still recommend booking at least a week in advance, especially if you intend to dine on a weekend. The food has always been good and they handle those with gluten sensitivities very well. That is the number one concern for my wife. Everything else is trivial in comparison, but having said that the atmosphere is warm and cozy and the staff are pleasant (and numerous). The attention we received was adequate though I was a little surprised that our server did not offer to open our wine or offer a bucket of ice. That has not been the typical case here in the past or at any other fine dining restaurant in Cape May proper. Was that a big deal? No, of course not and it could just have been an oversight or an indicator of how busy they were. Regardless, we will see Sapore again next year! Review from 2019: We couldn't get to a live person on the phone. We called 3 times within an hour between 4 and 5 pm and each time the call was forwarded to some other number that had no greeting indicating it was for the restaurant. Very bizarre. Anyhow, we decided to just go and see if we could get a table. Alas it was booked until 8:30 which was too late for us. We opted to order takeout and it actually came out fairly quickly. The food was very good. I had linguine alla vongole and my wife had the sapore Italiano (gluten free pasta due to allergy). My wife did not get ill which means they did a good job avoiding cross contamination. Kudos for that! We'll certainly be back, but only if we can actually get through on the phone to make a reservation. Dietary restrictions: Gluten sensitivities are handled well here"
