"My first review since I 've sadly moved to the east coast. This is the first place that was truly unexpected. I 'm not one bit upset that I blew my diet for this meal. In short: IF YOU LIKE SEAFOOD, YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLACE! After driving to and from Hammondsport a handful of times, whenever we would pass by this place, I thought to myself I need to try that place...but it looks more like a local dive bar BUT, being that there are nice options in the downtown area of Hammondsport, we haven 't gotten around to it....until tonight. First impression, we got there around 5:30 (on a Thursday . The inside was not what I would expect from the outside. Cozy dining room with a small bar....all themed to a nautical motif. *Yarrrr* I was a bit nervous that we were the only ones in the dining room, but we were seated and the very pleasant waitress was quick to get us our drink order. Perused through the menu, my partner in crime decided on the largest dish on the menu...the Nor 'easter and shrimp cocktail and I ordered the Cioppino Pot. But first, we were treated to a warm basket of CORN BREAD(!!! . It was crumbly and sweet and went perfectly with a honey butter. It 's the little touches that stand restaurants apart. Our salads came out, they were fresh with some of the best tomatoes I have had in a while. My squeeze ordered the homemade ranch dressing, I had to have a taste and it was delicious. Then.....the pièces de résisances (I 'm guessing that is how you plural that phrase ...the main courses. They were large feasts of treasures of the ocean. My man enjoyed his trough of food, cooked perfectly and fresh seafood. Mine was incredible. The sauce was full of flavor and really complimented the seafood. It was this tomato based sauce with celery, a bit of spice, and some other flavor that I couldn 't quite put my finger on. In the short amount of time I 've lived in this area....this is by far the most memorable meal I 've had in this area (Corning/Hammondsport/Ithaca . It is not foo-foey and not presumptuous (we are out in the sticks people, let 's stop pretending to be fancy . Super friendly staff, the owner chatted with us and was very friendly. Pricing was spot on for the quality you are getting. Hands down, best seafood you 'll get in the area."

This place is a great spot for seafood and steaks around Kueka Lake. They have local wine and beer and the soup is usually pretty good. This is one of the only places around that has crab and fish so if that's what you're looking for then this is the place:

I ordered the Maryland Style Steam Pot and salad. Local beer. The salad was an excellent fresh homemade beet and blue cheese dressing BEST Salad Dressing in New York ! Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The price is right for such selection and freshness.

I'd been meaning to post about this place for over a month now. This is one of the best places I've dined at in the US, while on a road trip. What makes it so special, is the owner and chief proprietor, who is a generous and welcoming soul. He went to such great lengths to accommodate our particular dietary needs, that we felt we were visiting someone's home, and not eating in a restaurant. The pan-fried fish and chips were so nice, they even impressed my Brit wife. If you're ever traveling through upstate NY on the i86 from Rochester towards Binghampton, I would highly recommend a food-stop here.

Don 't be fooled by outside appearances and miss out on this gem! Food: My wife and I went for our anniversary, ordering drinks, appetizers, and entrees. Her cocktail was very well made, and my beer was the perfect temp. Be sure to try the hush puppies, which are the best we 've had. We ordered the Nor 'easter Steam Pot for two and enjoyed well prepared crab, lobster, mussels, clams, and shrimp. Service: very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Atmosphere: classic seafood shack. Casual. No modern gimmicks. Our kind of place. We are early diners these days; go earlier if you have kids, or later if you like with older children or for date night. Yes, the outside is rough, but don 't let... View menu

Well from 8/14 we have not been back until now after a 3 year stay based on that meal. While I'm thrilled to say things have much improved for the Pelican. We've stopped out twice now over the past month and the food was not only delicious but all freshly prepared seafood and the pieces were very reasonable. They now offer various fried seafood fare along with pots of different entries. Today we had the Friday night fish fry along with friend clams. The fish was superb and it's not often you can actually fine fresh friend clam strips and not frozen junk. The wait staff Kim was wonderful, food service was fast and responsive and the entrees came out pipping hot! Definitely add this to your ju...

Having grown up in New England I'd wildly anticipated the opportunity for some decent seafood so close to home. Read the prior reviews here, thought maybe it might be great food. Nice decor, friendly staff. Then my partner entered the bathroom. We don't know if it's been inspected lately but the odor was horrendous and almost made us sick. We liked the bread (best part of the meal, frankly) and the seafood and steak arrived. Half the seafood was over cooked and not up to par quality wise with even the all-you-can-eat crab at Chinese buffets in this neck of the woods/Rochester. Likewise the steak we ordered was overcooked and had a slightly spoiled taste on the edge. Sad, because the idea of...

We come to Keuka Lake every summer and have always wished for a good spot for seafood. The Pelican 's Net, which opened in August of '11, has made that wish come true. The steamed clams were plump and juicy, my wife 's whole lobster was perfectly cooked, and my calabash style fried oysters were delicious. Moist cornbread and yummy home made coleslaw completed a fine meal at a very competitive price and we 're looking forward to the bananas Foster cheesecake we didn 't have room to eat on site so took away with us for later. One thing that will put off some: no liquor license, at least not yet. The Net is right across the street from the Finger Lakes Beer Company, though, so you can have a be... View menu

We were driving along the west side of Keuka Lake and decided to look for a place for am early dinner. We found this place on Yelp and drove down to Hammondsport. There was only one other vehicle in the lot but this want a surprise because it was the afternoon. We had a difficult time deciding what wanted to order because there were so many seafood choices. We finally settled on the Nor 'easter Steam Pot, Rainbow Trout catch of the day and Crab &Artichoke Parmesan Sourdough Crisps appetizer. Everything was delicious! The appetizer was so good it could have been an entree by itself. The steam pot was the best I 've ever had and worth every penny!! The trout was cooked to perfection! This is n...

Very disappointed with our meal and service! Where to start? The owner was pleasant and explained the menu in great detail when we arrived, but everything just went downhill after that. For reference: we were a group of 6 and arrived when there were only 2 other tables being serviced and only had 2 small families come in after we arrived. Our drinks took 10 minutes to arrive; we got to order 15 minutes after that; our appetizers came 45 minutes later, followed by a salad 15 minutes later; lastly our meal arrived 20 minutes after that (after the table next to us who arrived 30 minutes later than us . A grand total of 2hrs and 20ish minutes!!!! OMG Our food was bland and of lame quality. The a...

"My experience at Park Inn Restaurant was a letdown, starting from the front door. We chose this spot for our anniversary, excited by its culinary reputation, but found ourselves stymied by a maître d' more focused on pretense than hospitality. Despite multiple empty tables at 6:40pm on a Tuesday in the Finger Lakes, we were turned away from table service with claims of reservations that never seemed to materialize. Relegated to the bar, service lagged—from delayed orders to slow drink refills probably due to a bartender that was overwhelmed because the maître d' wasn't seating tables. Notably, another diner, even recognized as a repeat guest by the maître d', was also denied a table now 7:30pm. I had seen 3 reservations arrive during my time sitting at the bar next to the host stand. This repeat solo guest was also bizarrely denied an open seat next to us at the bar. By the time we left at 8:20pm (Restaurant closes at 9pm), many tables remained unoccupied, highlighting a disconnect between the host's gatekeeping and actual demand. The maître d' seems to play gatekeeper to an empty kingdom, the chefs who certainly deserve accolades also deserve a better host. Photos taken during our visit clearly show the empty tables, contradicting the maître d's insistence on all seats being reserved. This unnecessary gatekeeping resulted in not only a disappointing experience for us but also other potential diners being turned away. The establishment's approach to managing reservations and guest seating desperately needs reevaluation."
