"Every holiday season, our family travels to Freeport to shop and enjoy a meal together. After reading Yelp reviews, we decided to make a reservation for lunch. When we arrived, the restaurant was mostly empty, possibly due to the rainy weather. The waitstaff was friendly and seated us promptly. We placed our drink and appetizer orders, then gave our main orders. It seemed like the waitstaff was short-staffed as they were also covering the bar. Our drinks arrived without glasses for our beers, and the appetizers were not up to par. The bruschetta and spinach dip were barely toasted. Our meals were served with surprisingly small portions, and the overall flavor was bland. One of our guests had to add salt to her risotto, accidentally spilling salt all over her plate. When the waitstaff checked on us, we explained the issue but declined a replacement plate. Only half of the dish was taken off the bill, which left us feeling unsatisfied. Despite spending over $200, we left hungry and disappointed. While we understand the challenges of managing staffing levels during slow periods, we do not feel that we received a quality dining experience."

The food was amazing and the service was prompt, even though it was a busy lunch crowd on Mother's Day. It can be hard to find a good restaurant in Freeport, but I would definitely return to this one without hesitation.

Stopping in before a movie, I enjoyed the best haddock sandwich I’ve had in a long time. It was fresh, broiled, flavorful and on homemade focaccia. Absolutely delicious! My husband loved the pasta special. We will repeat this restaurant and a movie option.

We came for a family get-together. Everything was fantastic. Drinks made to order, local draft beer and what I assume is homemade lemoncello. The group had mostly pasta dishes which arrived quickly and the pasta was al dente and not mushy. All in all a great experience. View menu

I made a reservation for a large group (10 people) for lunch after a family event. The waitress was great, she took care of all of us, including two kids. The menu had a nice variety for adults and kids and everything tasted great. We were able to bring a special cake with us to serve after lunch. I would definitely recommend Petrillo's and will be back again myself!

Had reservation but were seated at the bar due to lack of availability of tables. Were told that the seating arrangement would be temporary but were never brought to a table and eventually had to order food due to time constraints (had been waiting already for half an hour). Were rarely/ever checked in with by the staff regarding needs (for instance, watched people around us offered bread or if they needed something else while we were ignored). This was our first time at Petrillos and to be honest, it may be the last based on this experience. This was not the kind of Mother's Day meal I had wanted to bring my mom to.
