"pollard’s is hands down the best fried chicken in hampton roads. they have a large selection on their menu and it is almost always perfectly prepared. my 2 biggest complaints are 1) the prices are very high, even for the quality of food. I can only afford to eat there once or twice a year itself with a decent one (billion suck) and 2) the staff is not always the best, I have heard that they want to get attitudes with customers over as easy as a child to change their order, and I have seen that they waste time while the customers wait to order or eat. but one thing is sure that eating is always great!"

If you're ordering anything other than chicken or bbq do not eat here. Everything is gross & frozen.

Fries were perfect, chicken livers overcooked, smelled like burnt grease. Didn't follow my own rule about checking food before pulling off from the drive thru View menu

all their foods are amazing, and their prices are much better than the colonel. they offer food options that are not frequently offered by others, such as fried okra and fried chicken livers. your personal is friendly and the place is kept very clean. I can't beat it!

we pre-ordered chickens for picking up with the website. while our order was 10 minutes too late, it was vatertag, so we understood the delay. Nevertheless, the online order made the process easy. the chicken was delicious and damp and fleshy. peace to perfection as it is in the rule. something on the expensive side was worth it. Ok so its mostly the service that's getting 2 stars. The food is decent enough. However, the people that work here are a smidge lazy. If you order ahead, expect to wait the same amount of time as if you walked in, ordered, stood in line for a while, took a nap, ran a mile and then got your food. ADDITIONALLY, only one person wore a mask. All other employees handling food did not.

The food was good, however at 5 on Monday afternoon with about three people waiting there was a 20-minute way and they were out of some chicken parts and a lot of other side items on Monday, was very strange. When we got home with our $50 worth of chicken the pieces were extremely small and the okra was soggy not my best dining experience and not at all what I would expect from a place that Prides itself in its chicken. Chicken stock in house ready to be cooked in large pieces of chicken is what I expect from a chicken place not what I got

"If I could give this place a 1.5 rating, I would. It was Thanksgiving and we had reservations. We are a party of 5 and were seated in a corner booth clearly too small for all of us. I asked the hostess if we could move but she said “no, there are other reservations and this is all we have.” Meanwhile, there are plenty of other tables open. After asking 2 more times, we were moved to a larger booth and made to feel uncomfortable with the body language. Oh yes and we were also told that there were on 2 thanksgiving dinners left. Our server was clearly way too busy with other tables. He checked in and took our order, but the attention could have been more. Especially since there were 5 of us. Very frustrating. We ordered some mussels for appetizer. The mussels were not cooked fully and many of them were not open and very slimy/raw still. My 13 year old son deeply cut his finger trying to open one of them and had to excuse himself to the bathroom to clean the blood off his hands and clean his shirt. Not necessarily a great start to dinner. The mussels were sent back and after waiting 45 minutes, they were prepared properly. We all ordered our food, including my order of the 40 ounce ribeye. The ribeye was very chewy and not necessarily tasteful either. The side dishes were cold and we rarely saw our waiter to complain. By then, we wanted to just eat and get out of there. I didn’t want to cause a scene in front of my family especially on thanksgiving. When our check came, an automatic 20% tip was added. This was a very expensive meal for 5 people and I feel as if I could have gotten a lot better somewhere else. Very disappointed all around. This place is overpriced and overrated."
