"Puebla is a tiny kitchen that can be found among the market stands inside Essex Market. If you 're looking for somewhat authentic Mexican food while at this market, this is your only option. Menu options include burritos, tacos, quesadillas virtually all the classic menu options you 'd find at a Chipotle chain but with a more home made vibe to it. However, I do find Puebla 's prices to be steep when considering portion size and overall food quality. I ordered their Milanesa Torta (the classic Mexican breaded chicken sandwich with all the fixings), hoping it would transport me to the delicious ones you 'd find south of the border. Unfortunately, it lacked seasoning and was a very small sandwich."

Tortas were small and nothing like the real-deal sandwiches you can get in Mexico.

Love the al pastor burritos here! Juicy and tangy. Staff is kind. Nice to take to the Seward park outside.

Best Pork Tamales I've ever had!! The Chile Rellenos were good as well. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a real authentic taste of Mexico.

I had a fantastic conversation with one of the owners about how Chipotle isn't truly authentic Mexican cuisine. I highly recommend coming here instead of Chipotle! View menu

Everything they serve is excellent and offers great value. You can enjoy it alongside a beer just ten meters away at Top Hops. It's truly the best choice at Essex Market.

First time ordering and everything is perfect. The burritos and the torta are perfect in portion size, and the mexican nachos are also amazing (wish the nachos were freshly made tho). Will order again!

I had hoped that this restaurant would be at least above average, especially since Mexican food in New York City can be quite hit or miss. Unfortunately, the Asada Taco I ordered was a miss, a total disappointment. I would rate it lower than three stars, but the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff made up for some of it. Perhaps I just caught them on a bad day. The steak was lacking flavor, almost like a bland cracker. The sauce was the only redeeming quality that allowed me to eat half of the taco; I regret having thrown the rest away. I was quite skeptical when I saw how they heated my steak in a pan, which left me questioning the quality of the preparation.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
