"If by coastal you mean the questionable creek that runs behind it then ok. Not worth the hype and definitely not worth the money. Make reservations because if you sit outside you will be swatting flies the entire time! The flies were crazy. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was the worst mistake I had made all day, besides driving to Augusta to begin with. Never had grits with the taste and consistency of Thanksgiving dressing. It was gross, like really gross. Maybe the cook thought it was dressing. The shrimp were nonexistent and located on the bottom of the microwaved dish. They were chewy and way too pink, probably left in the microwave too long. The pineapple was so hard I could hardly cut it, they should have thrown it in the microwave too. My mom said her salmon was good so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. The server was beyond nice and helpful, even brought us an empty bottle of bug spray to look at. Leave the coastal seafood to the coast, not a building in the middle of an apartment complex in the city."

This is a lovely restaurant in a beautiful neighborhood. I had lunch here thanks to my brother who recommended it. It's a nice change from the usual busy city spots. We will definitely be returning soon!

My friends and I dined at Raes tonight to celebrate a birthday and it was amazing!! From the time we arrived to the time we left the service was top notch. Stephanie was our server tonight and she was on top of it. We also met one of the owners Shadrick(sp) and he is what many owners/manager should strive to be. Along with excellent service the food was delicious the jerk pork was tender and juicy. The crab cakes the best I have had in Augusta!

The food at this restaurant is delicious! The puff bake was like tasty chicken pancakes, but fluffier and in a cake form. The salad was incredibly tasty, and I only eat salad once a year, so you know it must be good if it got someone like me to eat it. The drive to the restaurant in the dark was a bit strange and I was worried I had taken a wrong turn for 75% of the journey, but it ended up being worth it! I would definitely recommend this place! We have never been disappointed by Rae's Coastal Caffe. The dining experience is excellent, set in a stunning atmosphere. From the welcoming hostess (Lululu), bartender, our server (Harper), and even the other customers, everyone was polite and respectful. This restaurant is perfect for dinner, a laid-back happy hour, or a quick bite to eat. Rae's is definitely worth a visit if you haven't already been. The food is delicious and hats off to the chef!

Food was good, service was awful. Sat at the table for 10 minutes before even being greeted or drinks taken. Then sat with empty glasses majority of the time we were there and when my husband got up from the table for a few minutes the waiter came to refill his glass and said he sure is thirsty in a very condescending way. Appetizer was lukewarm upon arriving at our table. I ate my entire entree without a drink. Atmosphere was great, prices very reasonable.

We visited for lunch on a Saturday to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The food was really tastey. She and I had the chicken in a flaky pastry. It was served hot and was delicious. My husband had the wings and said they were good as well. The only note I would make to others would be about the restrooms that had shower curtains instead of doors and are in desperate need of an upgrade. The fish tank was awesome. Service was great and they have a friendly staff. View menu

At first glance, we thought, oh boy... what are we coming in here? But we were pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent. Everything tasted wonderfully unique. The staff was extremely human. Our waitress (Stephanie S. was the best we had since I can't remember. This will be DEFINITELY on the list of one of our favorite places when we 're in Augusta. The only negative thing I can say is that they must seriously improve the toilets. Shower curtains do not separate the stands leaves much privacy? But I think it is in line with the Jamaican theme.

This place had high reviews on Goggle so I had to check it out. The atmosphere was very relax. I was able to sit outside on the back patio, although I didn't have a reservation. I could tell by conversations I was hearing that the restaurant had frequent regulars, which is a very good thing. The waiter I had was very tentative. I ordered the blackend Mahi Mahi and this is the only reason why I am giving the restaurant a four instead of a five. The Mahi Mahi was a little dry, but the red potatoes were very flavorful. The house salad was really good too. I also ordered an Island Rum Punch and the bartender did an excellent job with that as well. Another nice touch was the manager came out and...

"Hands down the best food I've had in Augusta. In Augusta for work, and have been trying out various restaurants with the work crew. This place I is the first that had me saying I'm coming back. EVERYTHING was good! Seating is limited and there was a short (10min) then from there it's either buffet style or takeout option. We dined in, which gave me a chance to sample EVERYTHING. I started with the salmon in lemon sauce. Not overcooked and just delicious. This was my favorite. Seconds were had. Next up was the fried pork loin. Probably my least favorite protein but still good. I'm not much of a pork person and still enjoyed. Then the barbeque chicken. This..was..good. seasoned to the bone. For sides, there was some corn and lima beans and plain rice. After this, we had the beef gumbo. The gumbo truth be told was more a soup. For me gumbo needs to be a little thicker...heartier. Whatever you want to call it delicious. The beef was seasoned well, tender and the broth flavoured with okras. There was also a salad bar, and I just had a fresh salad. Typical salad toppings with some.black olives and jalapenos to spice it up a little. Not sure about the dressing, I did without. Then everything was topped off with the peach cobbler. I enjoyed this as well, probably because it was not overly sweet. But I know people are passionate about their cobbler, so opinions will very. All in all, I'm definitely going back and look forward to different daily dishes. We were told when leaving tomorrow (Friday) is fried chicken day."

"My significant other and I went to Augusta to celebrate our 5-year anniversary and asked friends in the area for recommendations. This was one of the top recommended restaurants and we were NOT disappointed. First off, we’re from Atlanta, so we’re used to really nice fine dining experiences. The food was absolutely incredible. We had steaks and the shrimp and grits as well as 2 appetizers and a side of Mac and cheese. We also had several cocktails that were creative and delicious! I’m writing this review in late December when we went the first week in November solely because it’s been on my mind to leave this review for Victoria, our incredible waitress. I know sometimes reviews can mean a lot to an owner (so I’m really hoping you see this! and I think this woman deserves some sort of raise or bonus because she’s the best waitress I’ve had in years. She made our whole dining experience. Without her, it would’ve been great food and drinks, but she made the entire experience absolutely wonderful. We were a very late reservation, so by the end of our meal the restaurant closed. Yet she still came out with a chocolate dessert and creme brûlée on a tray, said it was on her and thanked us for spending our evening with them. She said to take as long as we wanted and that just meant so much to us. So thank you Victoria. We hope our paths cross again, you’re incredible "
