"For my eldest daughter's 14th birthday we decided to try somewhere off the beaten track for her dinner celebration. I work for The Home Depot and they have an associate discount program. They had $10 for $2 deal so I printed the coupon. We didn't realize that during the week, they close at 6pm and we arrived serious 5.15pm. The service, nonetheless, was prompt and extremely friendly! Unfortunately due to it being close to closing, they were out of beef for their burger selection. We were apologized to about it profusely and even offered a free substitution of sides for another entree. Upon learning that it was my daughter's birthday, she told us that she got a free piece of her choice of cake. We truly felt taken care of. As everything they make is made fresh and to order, receiving our food took a bit longer than it would at more corporate restaurant, but everything was delicious and we'll portioned! Even after apologizing several times for arriving close to closing, they insisted we take our time and enjoy everything. When it came time for my daughter's free slice of cake, she was not only given a HUGE piece of her chosen slice, they also gave us an extra HUGE slice for my other 2 to share a well! This place truly made us feel welcomed and at home! The best part? I spent LESS THAN HALF of what a normally spend at corporate restaurants even after leaving a very generous tip! This is most certainly a place I'd love to visit again without fear of breaking the bank!"

Rose's is a lovely little place just off Main in downtown NPR. Rose is the owner, and her team can whip up some great homestyle favorites like meatloaf and burgers, wraps and sandwiches. Her stuffed pepper soup is to die for, and she has lots of other home made soups as well that are excellent. I'm a regular for her chicken salad, but you need to get there early as she often runs out, which should tell you something. Try the chicken enchiladas on Tuesdays, amazing. It's a friendly, homey place with indoor and patio seating, a book shelf if you want something to read with your meal, and just plain great food.
