"The food itself was quite good, but there were several items we wanted to order that were unavailable. For instance, the soup of the day was beef, and our waiter needed to return to take a new order for soup. I also wanted Italian dressing, which they didn't have, and when I asked for butter for my green beans, I had to wait ten minutes. My spouse had to remind our waiter about our order on multiple occasions. Additionally, my spouse ordered a burger without the bun, which was supposed to come with fries, and also requested a salad. The waiter took it upon himself not to include the fries but never checked with my spouse about whether he wanted to replace them with something else, like the salad. Overall, my birthday dinner was not as enjoyable as I had hoped. We've had good experiences at this restaurant in the past, but this visit left us very disappointed. I would like to see the Carriage House Inn invest more time in training their staff, as it seemed that our waiter was ignoring us as well as other tables."

"We had a reservation for 14 people at 4 PM, which turned out to be 15 in total. We enjoyed a wide variety of dishes, from chicken tenders to steak, crab legs, and overflowing seafood platters, all the way to all-you-can-eat options! The hard shell crabs were the best, and the steamed shrimp were incredible. The crab legs were tasty, though I prefer them heavily spiced. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. Our server, Laken, was truly amazing—hands down the best server we've ever had! We adored her and hope to be served by her again next time. We were never left wanting, as we always had plenty of crabs, crab legs, shrimp, butter, and cocktail sauce. The owner also stopped by to check on us and was very friendly. Happy New Year to everyone at Rubes!"

"I grew up in the Emmitsburg area and have visited this restaurant multiple times. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing each time. My food has consistently been incorrect, and the service is always lacking. My drinks, which cost over $10 each, were awful. The first drink was mostly ice, with barely one-third being actual beverage (having worked in bars before, I found this unacceptable). The food was also subpar—dry shrimp and lukewarm fries. The mixed drinks and fountain beverages were not good at all. After spending over $200 on my bill, I expected better. Additionally, the staff's attire did not seem suitable for a family-oriented establishment. I cannot recommend this restaurant, and I won’t be returning unless there are significant improvements!"

"I had the pleasure of trying the Chesapeake Benedict, and it was truly exceptional. The flavors melded beautifully, with each ingredient complementing the others perfectly. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection, and when I sliced into them, the yolk flowed out just right. The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy, providing a delicious tang that enhanced the dish. The addition of Chesapeake Bay-inspired elements, such as crab meat and Old Bay seasoning, gave it a unique flair that elevated the entire meal. On top of that, Mandy and Steph provided outstanding and friendly service. I highly recommend it!"

"Whenever I land in Maryland my first stop is to see my Bestfriend and eat. Per our usual, I search Yelp for what we’re in the mood for and go from there. This time I was in the mood for Barbeque and we ended up at Chubby’s! Chubby’s was super easy to find as it's right off the main road. There is ample parking in their private lot which was awesome as I was ready to eat. LoL! Upon walking in I was greeted by Michelle who also ended up being my waitress. Michelle was very pleasant and very engaging. Upon being seated, Michelle went over the menu with my table, answered my this vs. that questions, took our drink orders and allowed us some time to figure out what we wanted. When Michelle arrived back with my Sweet Tea (which was absolutely awesome) she took our orders and told me to make sure I saved space for dessert. As we couldn’t decide on what to choose we ended up with a table of options. Based on what I was able to taste from everyone’s plates, here’s an overview: Bestie: Pork Belly Perfectly done and super flavorful. Besties Wife: Chubby Burger Uniquely crafted burger that is Super Filling and pairs well with the “Any Last Words” sauce. Coleslaw Ahhhhhhhhmaaaaazingggggg Kiddies: Onion Rings Great flavor profile in the batter. Nice sized onion. Served fresh and perfectly golden. Mozzarella Sticks Suler cheesy and good. As far as my meal The first word that comes to mind for me is WOW!!!! Along with good service Chubby’s has good food. My Burnt Ends were meaty, flavorful, perfectly done, and had the authentic smoked barbeque flavor that I was seeking. The fries were hand cut and gooooooood. Crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. Perfectly salted and a perfect pairing to my Burnt Ends With having the Burnt Ends as my main course I was able to test out the sauces. OmMyGosh! I never knew how much I loved an assortment of barbeque sauces until today. However, though each sauce held its own and I appreciate the variation; I fell in LOVE with the “Private Reserve!” The Private Reserve sauce is a crafted blend that gives you a little bit of each flavor desire. There’s a hint of spice, a dash of sweet, and a smooth undertone of smokiness. Now, if you’re a lover of experimenting like me, make sure to blend the Private Reserve with the Hot Out. Of. This. Worlddddddddddd good. I had the Gooey Vanilla Cake for dessert. It was super moist, flavorful, and the Caramel drizzle really sets it off. It puts you in the mindset of cheesecake meets cake with a flaky texture. Chubby’s was an awesome find and I would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for some good barbeque.
