"Saimin Says is definitely not a vegetarian restaurant (the sauces contain fish and the fried rice contains pork). However, they were so friendly and helpful in trying to figure something out for me, who happened to walk in for lunch after only glancing at the menu online. I ended up getting the Chicken Curry and Rice (without the chicken of course) and it was really solid. It had a Japanese curry base with Yukon gold potatoes, carrots, onions, and celery inside. The meal came with a cup of rice placed in a to-go bowl and a big soup container for the curry so I was able to try it out in the parking lot. Note that they're directly across the street from Golden International (near IKEA) in a large business plaza. It was initially a little tricky to find the right suite since there isn't a huge sign outside and most of the exteriors look alike."

The musubi was excellent, the macadamia pancakes were delicious and the service was very nice and quick. Will definitely try Saimin Says again. Great food for after the gym!

Mochiko Chicken Kalua Pork/Cabbage combo: 5 stars for flavor/quality, 4 stars for portions (not a true Plate lunch, more like a lunch special), but reasonable for $14. Would repeat if in the area again.

My pregnant wife ordered the hurricane fries and Loved it! Perfect blend of umami flavors that mixes the deliciousness of crispy French fries with sushi like flavor, you won’t be disappointed with this place! View menu

Very friendly service. I walked in and the staff let me know they had a Hawaiian menu along with Chamorro food menu. The rice bowl with pork belly was a delight pork belly wasn’t oily at all and had a very nice crisp. It also came with their homemade kimchi which had a good kick but wasn’t spicy. Overall would definitely recommend.

Tucked away in a rather drab black and white shopping center is this small eatery that serves Hawaiian food. There are 5 two person tables in the seating area. They have Hawaiian drinks in the cooler. I personally have no idea what Hawaiian food is supposed to be but the chicken katsu was similar to what I've had at Go! Go! Curry in NYC

We went to Ikea and found this place nearby while searching for good Hawaiian food. Some of the popular items, we didn't try before and so wanted to give it a shot. The place is quite small, didn't have many tables. But servide was quick overall. We tried the most two popular items here: Loco Moco and Spam Musabi. Both were really good. View menu

A smaller space to seats 5 couples. You can get to go! Call in if you do that! Overall a nice space to sit down if you can steal a seat but people move in and out pretty quickly so if you want to sit just order (because everything comes to Togo anyways) and wait for a seat! The food was really good! For a good price! Customer service was amazing! We had to wait to order but she was so sweet and very quick to help!

Saimin Says is a cute Hawaiian restaurant nestled into the business park next to Ikea. Our food was cooked to order, which I appreciate, so took a bit of time to come out. Staff was extremely friendly and made me feel like this is a place I'd like to frequent! I tried the katsu and the kalua pork combo plate. The chicken katsu had a gorgeous crust on it and was perfectly cooked. The katsu sauce was very sweet. The kalua was very good but quite juicy/watery. My daughter ordered the keiki pancakes and was DELIGHTED when she saw it was shaped like a sea turtle! Super cute touch! She also adored the spam musibi classic! Mahalo! We'll be back!

"Let me start by stating that I don’t do online reviews, I’m way to lazy. But after my last experience here, I felt absolutely compelled to make sure this place got the recognition it deserves. My girlfriend and I have gone there twice in the past week. Our first time there, we had such a pleasant time. The food was fantastic! We had gotten the braised beef soup, pork soup dumplings, tofu puff and glass noodle soup, then the pork and veggie steam buns. At first I was apprehensive about the cost, roughly 10-14 per dish. But after we got our food, my worries diminished. Everything was absolutely delicious! The braised beef soup was the definition of “to die for”. Enough so that it brought us back again at the end of the week! This time was not as good, it was phenomenally better!!! My girlfriend and I both got the braised beef soup this time, after last time being so incredible. We were not disappointed! It was heavenly! Though the food was the reason we came back, our server is the inspiration for this review(not to belittle the other employees . Our servers name was Jun. Within moments of being seated, he arrived with a smile on his face and took our drink order. After returning with our drinks, he helped us make our minds up on what side to order. This time, in tandem with the two braised beef soups, we got the pork chop fried rice(w/ white rice). The pork chop fried rice was ridiculously good. We could not get over how delicious the pork chop was! Then he made some small talk and made us feel more immersed in our dinning experience. We were enjoying not only the food, but the environment almost as much. He wasn’t overly talkative, but just the right amount to make our experience feel important, and unique. Nearing the end of our second trip there, we found ourselves not just talking about how outrageously good our food was, but how friendly and attentive our server was. From the fast meet and greet, to the way he always made sure our drinks were full, without us asking. Which seems like an easy task, but in combination with the huge amount of customers, and my ability to consume copious amounts of beverages(almost to an embarrassing extent), it’s often a servers nightmare. If there’s anything that can ruin an experience, it’s constantly having to wait for a drink refill(which for me seems to always be a problem), but not once was I left with that frustration. At the end of it all, it left us with such a strong positive impression, that we feel that Din Tai Fung will easily be one of our regular go to destinations for amazing food, and exceptional customer service. Thank you so much Jun for the incredible experience, you truly made our night memorable! We will be returning soon!!!"

"We visited on 7/12/2024 at 6:15 pm. There is street parking along with parking on the side and in the back of the restaurant for those that drive. The bus also goes right by it you want to use public transportation. While very busy, there was a table available and we were seated immediately. This is in a converted house at the corner of Rainier and 68th in south Seattle. Out front there are a handful of tables and you can see Lake Washington. Be aware that Rainier is a busy, noisy street so be prepared if you do eat outside. Inside there is a bar that looks like it seats 6 7 people. There are many tables inside from 2 tops to 8+ for a variety of seating accomodations. The host was very friendly and attentive which made our initial experience and impression very good. Our server Liza was also very prompt, helpful and friendly. Again, a very positive and pleasant experience. We started with a bottle of white Pecorino wine that was on their specials list. Tasty and went well with our appetizer of burrata/pesto/sweet pepper sauce, also on their specials list. We really enjoyed them. The pepper sauce and pesto were very flavorful and a good compliment to the rich burrata cheese. The appetizer also came with pizza crust pieces for the cheese. We had the Sorrento pizza for our main which was plenty for two people. It was tomato sauce, crimini mushrooms, gaeta olives, mozzarella, basil, capers and prosciutto. It was delicious! The edges were medium sized and the center crust was nice and thin typical of that style. Overall the crust had a very pleasant chew. It was cooked to light golden brown and was cooked perfectly all around. No half burnt or burnt on one side and barely done on the other it was nice and even all the way around. The flavors went together wonderfully. The salty olives, capers and prosciutto were great compliments to the light tang of the tomato sauce, the flavorful earthyness of the mushrooms and the herbal basil. Overall very flavorful and I would have it again. Based on food quality, atmosphere, and great service from our server Liza, I would highly recommend. Great for couples date night, great for families, and perfect if you just want to sit at the bar and have you meal. Parking: Multiple street parking options plus a gravel lot on the side and in back of the restaurant. Kid friendliness: Good place for families with kids. They do have high chairs."
