"Dear Management at Santini's, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding an experience I had at your Sterling location on the evening of August 7, 2024. As a loyal customer since 2011, I have always valued the quality of your food and service, which makes this incident all the more surprising and disheartening. I arrived at the restaurant at 8:35 p.m., with 25 minutes left before closing time. Despite the restaurant being empty, I was received with an unwelcome attitude. When I asked if the restaurant was still open, a young woman, who I believe was Hispanic, informed me that it depended on what I wanted because they were "pretty much closed." When I indicated that I simply wanted a cheesesteak sandwich, she reluctantly agreed to take my order, but only on the condition that it would be to-go. From the beginning, her demeanor was unprofessional. She seemed annoyed by my presence and took my order without asking for essential details like the sandwich size or my preferred toppings. This hurried approach made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I specifically requested no mayonnaise, just lettuce, tomato, onions, and a pickle on the side, and asked for the bread to be toasted extra. Unfortunately, when my sandwich was handed to me, it was a half-size, not the footlong I intended to order. Upon questioning the size discrepancy, she curtly replied that I hadn’t asked for a footlong, despite her never having inquired about my preference. This led to the original sandwich being discarded and remade, an issue that could have been avoided with clearer communication. When I finally received the remade sandwich, it was unsatisfactory: the bread was pale and not toasted, there were no onions or pickle, and, contrary to my request, it included mayonnaise. Additionally, I was concerned to see the same person handling cash also preparing my food, which raised hygiene concerns. Despite asking three times for a plate to eat on, I was initially denied and told I could not dine in, even though the restaurant was still open. After much insistence, I was eventually given a plate, albeit reluctantly. Overall, the rushed service and careless food preparation made for an utterly disappointing experience. As I left the restaurant at 9:45 p.m., the staff quickly locked the doors and turned off the lights, reinforcing the notion that my presence was more of an inconvenience than anything else. This experience falls far below the expectations I have for Santini's. It was disheartening to be treated poorly by the staff and to receive such a subpar product. I feel compelled to share my experience publicly, as it reflects a decline in both service and food quality at this location. The treatment I received from the staff, including two young Hispanic women and an African-American gentleman, was unwelcoming and rude from start to finish. Wow this place has gone straight down the tubes. Their garden salad greens is limp iceberg lettuce and they gave me 1/2 a boiled egg on s salad that costs $10. My husband 's tuna sandwich was out on STALE WHEAT BREAD!!! I 'm mad and won 't give these people my money again. Shape up!! View menu

I've been here a couple of times and their Steak and Cheese sub's are the bomb. It took me a little bit to pick up my to go order they took it upon themselves to re fry my french fries because the first batch was soggy. That is amazing service, no where else has ever done that for me! :

Food was tasty but surprisingly not as large as what you would get from a proper New York deli...but the prices were similar. I'm accustomed to large sandwiches, with a nice dill pickle, not the case here. I'll order again if I find myself in the area again but it won't be #1 on my list.

I ordered a small Italian sub, asked for light, mayo, extra onions and oil and vinegar. Also, I asked for my bread to be toasted and it wasn't I get home to eat my sandwich and it is loaded with mayonnaise no onion hardly any oil and vinegar and the meat was cut so thin for the price that they charge I definitely won't be going back and when you can't have people that understand English to take the order. We walked in and stood in line, where I ordered a medium pizza and a chicken Philly sub. After we placed our order, four other people behind us received their food before us—someone got a pizza and two bags, and another person received a sub. At that point, I started to get frustrated because my mom had ordered a sub before me and still hadn't received her meal. We paid separately, and my mom eventually went up to inquire about her order. Five minutes later, her food was finally ready. The service was incredibly poor, and no one even apologized for the wait. This will definitely be my last visit here.

I've been dining at Santini's since high school, and I usually stick with The New Yorker and curly fries. In my opinion, curly fries are the best type of fries, and I'm willing to defend that claim! Since I've only ever ordered The New Yorker, I can confidently recommend it to anyone who enjoys pastrami. On my recent visit, I decided to try something different and opted for The Godfather. Based on my experiences, I can say that nearly everything on their menu is delicious and made with care. The service here is excellent, and there's plenty of seating if you choose to dine in.
