"The oysters were equally disappointing; they were terrible with no flavor, and they were still attached to the shell, making them awkward to eat. I had to send my mussels back because they were overwhelmingly salty and lacked any flavor in the broth—just a mix of chopped meat and garlic salt. I usually enjoy salty food, but this was excessive. The crostini served with them were hard and crumbly, and I expected better from a seafood restaurant, like having them served in a metal steamer or at least with an extra bowl. On a positive note, the cocktails were good, and our server was friendly. However, the manager seemed uninterested in our complaints. When she approached our table, she merely relayed that the waiter said we needed to speak with her. Upon hearing our concerns, she told us, "This is how the cook does it," and then she left. We never saw her again, and there was no apology or offer to replace the calamari or mussels. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience."

Only Fair. Food tasty but minamalistic. Very noisy in dining area. Probably not returning. Unless in the summer at their tiki bar outside with music

the first time here and it was fantastic! the NJ-Clam-Chowder was thick and creamy and tasty and the lobster cake was the best I ever had! we will definitely return to future cape may.

The drinks were very good. I had the French Onion soup which was very tasty. The main course was the stuffed pork chop which was o the dry side. Only two choices for dessert so the typical lava cake was it.. View menu

The last time I visited, I wasn't thrilled with the crowd, but that was on a Saturday. This time, however, was excellent. The ambiance was beautiful and serene, creating a great atmosphere, and the service was top-notch. I'm looking forward to going back!

Wonderful food wine (I had Jersey Clam Chowder, Lobster Pot Pie, and Spanish Albariño . Nice diverse menu and over 20 wines available by glass or bottle. Service was impeccable. Atmosphere pretty nice, they offer an outdoor dining deck during warmer weather. Location right on Beach Ave, across street from beach boardwalk. I was there on a non-busy evening, but on busier nights it will be noisy due to bar being right next to dining room. Reservations definitely needed during summer months. If you are ok with some noise, then I recommend it! I’ll try it again (with friends next time!

"I used to deliver for this place and I was very close with the head chef, who is a very passionate man when it comes to his profession as a Chef and head cook of this restaurant/kitchen side of the Restaurant and Pizzeria. You see, there 's two sets of doors for this fine establishment.Okay, technically, there are 3 sets of doors that are open to the public to enter and exit! The restaurant side doesn 't open until later in the day, obviously. However, when you walk into the restaurant, it 's like you 've entered an entirely different place! The atmosphere is immeasurably different from that of the Pizzeria on the other side with its booths and pizza window! However, I must add that as a full-time resident of this fine town? It 's not quite what it used to be. Maybe that might change since spring has picked up, and summer will be in full swing before we know it!The pizzeria is busy during all seasons! The restaurant does have an amazing N.Y. Strip Steak and a brilliant rib-eye if I 'm not mistaken! Then their seafood is apparently delicious! I 'm biased since I 'm not big on seafood. But it does look good! All-in-all, I 'd recommend trying the pizza at least once!Their specialty pizzas are good. They have a very good white cheesesteak pizza, too. Oh! Their white pizza, in general, is amazing. I used to take some home after my shift. I 'm weird, though, so I 'd throw some pepperoni and pineapple on it before heating the slices. This is a place you need to try for yourself to have a decent opinion. The pizza is great. They even do parties and cater to parties. I 'm quite certain to an extent. Okay, I 'll end here since I left a mino-novella! ?"

"Updated review from 2023: Since our first visit to this restaurant in 2019, we have returned each year following. They added Ooen Table for setting reservations and we've not had an issue getting a seat since. I would still recommend booking at least a week in advance, especially if you intend to dine on a weekend. The food has always been good and they handle those with gluten sensitivities very well. That is the number one concern for my wife. Everything else is trivial in comparison, but having said that the atmosphere is warm and cozy and the staff are pleasant (and numerous). The attention we received was adequate though I was a little surprised that our server did not offer to open our wine or offer a bucket of ice. That has not been the typical case here in the past or at any other fine dining restaurant in Cape May proper. Was that a big deal? No, of course not and it could just have been an oversight or an indicator of how busy they were. Regardless, we will see Sapore again next year! Review from 2019: We couldn't get to a live person on the phone. We called 3 times within an hour between 4 and 5 pm and each time the call was forwarded to some other number that had no greeting indicating it was for the restaurant. Very bizarre. Anyhow, we decided to just go and see if we could get a table. Alas it was booked until 8:30 which was too late for us. We opted to order takeout and it actually came out fairly quickly. The food was very good. I had linguine alla vongole and my wife had the sapore Italiano (gluten free pasta due to allergy). My wife did not get ill which means they did a good job avoiding cross contamination. Kudos for that! We'll certainly be back, but only if we can actually get through on the phone to make a reservation. Dietary restrictions: Gluten sensitivities are handled well here"
