"I visited this restaurant on Valentine's Day, and while it started as a pleasant evening, things began to unravel as the place got busier. The waitstaff seemed to be short-handed for the unusually busy night, which affected the service. The music was excessively loud, making it difficult to converse without being overheard by other tables. They really need to improve their alcohol service policy; after three attempts to address a customer's order, the owner had to step in and explain why the man still hadn’t received his drink, and he had to raise his voice to be heard over the music. The food was decent; the rice was the highlight, but the kabob was dry. I won’t even dive into the issues we faced with the bill. Overall, it seems that this team may not be well-suited for the food service industry."

I returned for a second visit and had a fantastic experience. The service was significantly improved compared to my first visit.

I wasn't expecting to find authentic and delicious Turkish cuisine while I was in Houston, but I definitely found it when we stopped by the Istanbul Grill View menu

I liked the appetizers more than what I liked the main course. We asked for lamb which is supposed to be their speciality and it was barely ok. The service was great, the wine es good, and the dancer and DJ were entertaining. I think it is a good place for group dinning if you don't particularly care for high quality lamb which is what I was hoping for.

However, the only downside was the hookah smoking inside the restaurant. I had initially planned to return and bring nearly 40 friends with me, but now I’m not sure that will happen since I think many of them will be put off by the indoor smoking. This was actually the same reason we decided not to book at Byblos Cafe on Richmond. Personally, I would go back, but I'm unsure if I would be able to host a large gathering there. Thank you!

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
