"Today was my 1st time here and the food was delicious. The service was great and fast. I love how small and cozy retro the place was on the inside. The prices are really good too. I saw a great diversity of people enjoying this place. Gay, straight, old, young, families and all types. I tried an oreo shake and it was very good. I'd go back to say hey to the cook and 3rd generation owner Ben. Wendy was our server and great. A little extra bonus. If you love Pokémon Go, this place is a Poké Stop so stop in and give the food a try and spin the poke stop."

I brought my friend from the PNW here when she said she wanted a tender. I never ate here, but I heard good things. They enjoyed their sandwich. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Fried mushrooms are a rarity on menus, so I ordered them. Again delicious. Super friendly and fast service. We took a day trip to Blank Park Zoo and decided to look for restaurants in the Smitty's area. We weren't disappointed! This place is a hidden gem. The exterior could use some updating, but the food was fantastic. I ordered the chili cheese, my wife had a classic dish, and the kids enjoyed 15 chicken nuggets with fries. My only complaint was the quantity of cheese curds we got for the price. Overall, we spent $32 and felt like we really got our money's worth. I would definitely recommend this spot!

Giant pork tenderloin sandwiches. Great crunchy breading. Only get the king size if you are seriously hungry. Veggie adds tomato and lettuce but they only cover about a quarter of the meat area, as does the bun. Cheese curds are excellent too. We took the staff's advice and got the white curds. These appear to be real cheese curds; maybe the yellow ones aren't. Very nice people. Only downside was we sat at a table in the front of the building was cold on a frigid Iowa night. Highly recommended if you are in the area and want a classic tenderloin.
