The dessert, a warm and gooey cookie, is a must-try. Unfortunately, when it comes to the main dishes, the restaurant often falls short. The local escarole salad has too little deer and too many root vegetables. The strange combination of vegetables and large chunks of tweezers do not complement the dish well. The Berkshire pork is overly oily. Overall, while the experience at this restaurant is enjoyable, the food may leave you feeling disappointed."

The food was top rate. The service was very slow (even though they were not full), uninterested and one had the sense that they felt superior to you unless you were a friend or a regular. Incredibly loud ambiance (seemingly a trend is restaurants these days). Will not be back even though the food was great.

I wish I could give South End a higher review, the food was very good. The issue is that I ordered the Cacio Pepe and it was served without the poached egg on top. How could a regular menu dish leave the kitchen without a main part of the dish? By the time they brought out the poached egg, the pasta was lukewarm And my husbands food no longer hot as well- he was nice enough to wait. Very disappointing, and nothing was offered to make amends but a lackluster apology. It was our first and last visit.
