"Patrick was remarkably patient with all the many changes we had to make. Originally, we were set to get married in April 2020, but we had to cancel due to COVID. Then, we faced personal tragedies—our first baby was stillborn in June 2020, and just two weeks later, my mom was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Seven months after that, we lost our second baby at 11 weeks, all while my husband’s small business in the hospitality industry was struggling during the pandemic. Patrick was accommodating to my brother and his family, who preferred not to sit inside with us. He arranged a comfortable table for them on the patio and rented four heat lamps to keep them warm. It turned out to be a lovely setup, and they were far from miserable; in fact, they felt included, especially during the cocktail hour when Patrick served passed appetizers outside. Not only was Patrick patient with our numerous changes, but he was also incredibly warm, kind, and empathetic towards our situation. He truly made an effort to ensure our wedding day was as perfect as it could be, as he knew we deserved at least one joyful day. And he succeeded! The food and ambiance at our wedding reception were simply perfect. Choosing our menu was challenging because all the options he provided looked delicious! Patrick curated a selection based on our conversations, taking the time to understand our preferences and childhood memories. Ultimately, we settled on three passed appetizers, which our guests are still raving about, especially the salmon poke spoon and the battered halibut with tater tot and malt vinegar aioli. Although my husband is allergic to fish, we chose two fish appetizers anyway, believing our guests would love them. I felt bad that he could only eat one, but as soon as we arrived at the restaurant after the cocktail hour, the server brought us each a plate of the passed appetizers! Mine included two of each of the three appetizers, and they were absolutely phenomenal. My husband received two of the vegetarian option (a warm brie and mushroom crostini that was to die for) along with some delightful little sliders! They not only remembered his fish allergy but went out of their way to prepare something special for him. The salad, entrees, and dessert were all impeccable—delicious, beautifully plated, and served at just the right temperature. I’ll share a photo of the custom menus printed by our florist, Brooke from Burlap and Bordeaux, so you can see. This was genuinely the best meal of my life, and as a foodie with high standards, I’ve enjoyed many incredible meals, but this one topped them all! The service was outstanding too! The staff was attentive and professional, consistently going above and beyond to ensure our day was special. We couldn't be happier with our choice of State and Fig for our wedding reception, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to host a remarkable meal that will impress their guests. We’re still receiving compliments from our guests about the food, service, and overall ambiance of the restaurant! We are immensely grateful to Patrick and his staff for orchestrating a perfect wedding celebration."

Serina and State&Fig were the least stressful and most helpful part of our wedding in July 2023. She was communicative and flexible. Everyone loved the food and the venue. Can't recommend this place enough!Food: 5/5

I visited this restaurant for brunch while attending a wedding, and everything was wonderful. We decided to share the hangover dish and the salmon Benedict, and while both were tasty, the Benedict stole the show. Our server, Riley, was incredibly friendly and attentive. We will definitely return! View menu

For my meal, I started with avocado toast topped with what tasted like chimichurri, which added an extra kick. It was delicious on a perfectly crisp piece of toast. I also tried the PB Benedict, featuring pork belly cooked with gochujang alongside the usual Benedict ingredients. The meat was a bit tough and slightly overcooked, but the flavor was spot on—it's hard to go wrong with gochujang! Overall, I would rate both dishes a solid 3.5, and the mimosas were definitely the highlight. This place is a great choice in Santa Barbara, especially with their bottomless options!

This restaurant has a special spot in my heart! The staff goes above and beyond in being friendly and efficient. The interior atmosphere is wonderfully warm and comfortable, truly enhancing the dining experience. Our lunch visit last week was a delight—our meals arrived quickly and were incredibly delicious! What made it truly memorable was the owner's personal touch; he kindly interacted with diners, sharing his infectious friendliness. And we can't overlook the charming outdoor patio, which is ideal for gatherings with friends. I have a deep appreciation for the food here and can’t wait for my next visit!

My father is a chef and always recommended this place when in Santa Barbara. I am salad person and very rarely does a salad taste absolutely delicious! The portion was perfect, honestly it could have fed two people. My husband ordered a delicious club sandwich that came with a side salad (btw they let you choose between a side salad or fries which is rare now days since everyone charges extra if you pick)My dad ordered the most delicious Aioli burger I was lucky to get a bite of it and the meat literally melts in your mouth!yes it was crowded but no wonder why the food is delicious! They also had a good selection of wines and I ordered a French rose Clemant which was perfect with the sunny w...

"THE BEST EMPANADAS ! After our almost one week vacation in Cambria my wife and I decided to make a stopover in Santa Barbara on the way home. A good reason to have dinner and then breakfast at two of our fav spots. Soon after getting settled in our casita at The Eagle Inn we headed straight here to buy some delicious Empanadas.....the best Empanadas we have ever enjoyed ! No problem scoring a parking spot on their small private lot at around 6.30pm. A very pleasant cashier named Florencia helped us with our dinner order at the service counter. We both ordered COMBOS...2 Empanadas side of choice and 3 Empanadas side of choice. My wife chose 1 x Pollo Pulled free-range Mary's chicken, onions and bell peppers , 1 x Serrano Prosciutto ham, mozzarella, garlic, wild arugula and a side of Chimi Papas Chimichurri oven roasted potatoes, spices, topped with aioli sauce . I selected 1 x Carne Sunfed Ranch grass-fed ground beef, onions, bell peppers, green olives and free-range hard-boiled egg , 1 x Serrano, 1 x Hongas Crimini mushrooms, organic spinach, caramelized red onions, mozzarella and a side of Chimi Papas. On any other day in warmer weather we probably would have dined here but it was getting late and the weather was pretty lousy. PRETTY QUICK ! There were a couple of walk-in pickups while we waited but apart from that it was pretty quiet. Florencia neatly packed our dinner order into take-out boxes and placed them on the counter. We paid and headed back to home base....The Eagle Inn. By 7pm we had it all ready to eat on the little table in our courtyard. Of course I brought my own beer to enjoy with dinner. WHAT CAN I SAY ! When you buy the best Empanadas you can't go wrong. I personally loved the Carne the best and the Serrano is always a winner but trust me they are all great. The delicious Chimi Papas with the provided side sauces tasted fabulous. VERY HARD TO BEAT !"
