"Very disappointed in the overall service and food. We were seated for 20 minutes and never did have a wait person come to acknowledge us. I had to go up and let the hostess know we still had not been waited on and asked her to send someone over to our table. Finally someone came to take our order but from the time we were seated it took 30 minutes just to get our drink and food order and we ended up with another server after our order was taken. Our drinks and food did come out in a timely fashion however the fried seafood platter was way over cooked and the stuffed shrimp was extremely salty. On a good note the pecan crusted salmon was good, albeit pricey. After we were finished, it took a very long time to get our bill and then for the waitress to get us paid out. I did not like your tipping system at all, having the wait person bring a computer tablet to you, after receiving your paper receipt, then asking what percentage you want to tip. If you didn't select one fast enough it timed out so she had to bring out another hand held device asking me to type in the dollar amount I wanted to tip. Customers should not be put on the spot about tipping. I have always been a good tipper but for me, it should be reflective of the overall service, quality of food and price to determine the amount of tip to include on the food receipt that is brought to us, not on a computerized tablet brought out by your wait person, asking you to pick a tip percentage. Though I was only going to give a 1 star rating, I chose 2 because once we did get the wait person assigned to our table, she did her best but it was obvious she has not been well trained on how to wait tables. It seemed like she was all over the floor serving customers, not allowing her to efficiently serve her customers. I understand that it is the busy season, but in summary, we had a very dissatisfied evening with service, food and pricing as we were there to celebrate our granddaughters 21st birthday. I hope things improve at your establishment as we have been there several times but your current operation and food preparation are not reflective of the better times that we have been there in the past."

The restaurant is beautifully designed and very clean. The decor is fantastic, and the staff is wonderful. The food is delicious, and the sunset view is stunning! Make sure to make a reservation.

The food was awesome, and the service was great. Our waitress was a sweetheart and very accommodating. The only problem I had was a Rounding charge on my recite. When asked what it was for, we were told it went to kitchen needs.

Excellent food. Lots of it had to take half home. Just ate rest for dinner tonight. Great Pina coladas. Only slight dislike was loud. Maybe install some sound barriers to absorb the noise. Tarin our server was very accommodating and prompt with order and very sweet. View menu

Please, please believe these bad reviews. Worst dining experience, ever. Two of the three appetizers were an hour getting to the table. We were informed that a cook just walked out, and one of the waitstaff was found outside, fishing off of the railing. The food started arriving about 1-1/2 hours later and the third appetizer about 20 minutes after that. We just laughed at them. None of the adults orders were right; missing or incorrect items. Numerous patrons were scowling and standing in line to confront anyone brave enough to ask. Even our 10-11 year olds were complaining about the food. No thanks!

This would have been a five-star review, but our server was lacking in every way. Luckily for us there was someone else behind the bar helping Melissa out, otherwise this would have been a lesser review. The chicken fried steak was huge and pretty good, but the highlight was the blackened tuna. It was delicious. I mean, really really good. So much so that I didn't even finish my drink or the mashed potatoes, and I love mashed potatoes, so that's note worthy. Full bar, beautiful patio, off the main road, a real find. Always check the hours first, most places out here have whack hours, this being no exception. A definite return destination.

eating was delicious and our server, nikki, was friendly, fast and efficient. we ordered fried garnels with fries, baja tacos, black snap with jalapeño shoots and beer crushed garnels with honey ingwerge. each meal came with coleslaw or salat upgrade. 3 of us chose coleslaw, 1 selected salat. the koleslawin was delicious. Typically I don't like much sauce, and the 13 year old twin daughters are not usually big Koleslaw fans. but it was so good, even they have tasted it. the reviews for every dish: blackened snapper with jalapeño grits really good not over spiced beautiful perfectly made fresh gries were some of the best grums I had ever had battered gulf shrimp tasty spicy banana just really... It was the worst dining experience ever in my entire life. We waited for 2 hours for our food. Even we were so hungry after all day at the beach and it was so over priced, we waited because we are middle of nowhere. My son didn't get what he wanted either after waiting for 1 hour they came back to him and told him that they were out of the rib eye steak that he ordered. For me and my 2 sons one entrée each without ordering any drinks, I paid $150 total..... I regret paying this money. It makes me feel almost abused that I paid that money. I made complaints to the manager but it did nothing. They offered us $25 gift card, we said we will never come back to this restaurant again. We are on vac...

Steve needs to close down for more time and regroup. I went to dinner there last week, and it wasn't a very good experience. The wait staff is nice and pleasant, and it seem like there were plenty of people working there, but stuff wasn't getting done. It felt like there was no experienced leader ship on that shift? Anyway, the ordering process was slow and when my shrimp and grits came out, it was awful. Soupy grits and some kind of sloppy gravy with grilled shrimp. Their deep fryer went down, so they couldn't offer any fried food dishes, which is understandable. Stuff happens, but it just seemed like it was the norm there? I understand that there is a void of available labor, but there's s...

"Pictures of items provided. Ocean Grill earned 2 stars for being nice, but our experience goes downhill from there. They were understaffed which led to long waits for about everything, and they were out of many items. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak and I ordered the Mahi Mahi with Cajun Shrimp Sauce and a cup of seafood gumbo for an appetizer. A table of 3 that came in after us got their dinners before I got my gumbo appetizer though we had ordered before they had even sat down. The gumbo was very salty and the shrimp in it were mush, but it did have a nice underlying flavor which indicates it would be good if it was fresher. My wife 's chicken fried steak had a weird flavor that reminded me of fennel and the toast was a garlic toast instead which was off putting. The shrimp on my Mahi Mahi dish were good as was the dirty rice. The garlic mash side looked old and contained undercooked potato pieces. The spicy green beans were canned green beans with what tasted like paprika on them. This was disappointing because spicy green beans made with fresh or even frozen green beans are really good. Crushed red pepper or pepper sauces should be used instead of paprika which isn 't really spicy at all.My Mahi Mahi was overcooked and dry and was covered with a gloopy Cajun sauce which overpowered the flavor of everything. If the fish was prepared correctly and the sauce was thinner, it might have been nice."

"We arrived at 9:55 AM on Saturday morning and were directed to find our own seats. Our drink orders were taken immediately, and we placed our food order at 10:01. To our surprise, we didn’t receive anything until 10:30 when we finally got a basket of chips and some salsa. By 10:42, after watching multiple tables arrive and be served, another customer approached us, curious as to why we hadn’t received our food when they had already come and gone. Shortly after, another server noticed us and asked if we still hadn’t received our meals. By 11:05, I walked up to the bar where our server and two others were chatting and asked if our order was ever sent to the kitchen. I was informed it had been, and one of them would check on it. It took another eight minutes for our food to finally arrive, but one of the three meals we ordered was incorrect. To make matters worse, we were informed they had run out of the menudo we had ordered. Additionally, the whole time we were there, the busser was cleaning tables, but he merely moved the dirty dishes to a neighboring table instead of disposing of them. It was quite unappetizing—did they not have a trash bin or sink for disposal? What frustrated us the most wasn’t just the long wait or the pile of dirty dishes next to us, or even watching other diners come, eat, and leave while we waited. It was the manager's lack of urgency or acknowledgment of the situation. She acted as if nothing was wrong and never offered an apology for the absurdly long wait. Even our server seemed embarrassed by how the manager handled it. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and left a poor first impression on my friends, whom I had hoped to impress with what is usually a wonderful meal. I hope they can improve this for my next visit to Bolivar. Please do better!"
