"Stopped in here last week to pick up dinner to go. I had tried to order online but the site wasn't loading. I was asked to wait nearly 10 minutes while she seated other people and did various things. It didn't appear very busy, but maybe they were low staffed or she was new. When I finally placed my order I had to repeat it multiple times and had to show her on the menu where Chicken Karaage was. Another 20 minute wait, outside since there wasn't space to wait inside. Took my food home and unboxed it, I will say it was all packaged well. The Cardinals roll was very good. The rice was cooked perfect, the fish was fresh and the presentation was nice. I was disappointed in both the chicken and the Tonkotsu. I knew that travel time would reduce the crispiness but it really had no flavor. The ramen noodles were a bit firmer than I like and it was a very small portion. The pork was tough and the broth was almost flavorless. Sad that I didn't like it better as the restaurant is nearby."

The food was great! Two is the party don't care for sushi and the waiter explained the non sushi dishes so well. Both loved what they ordered. It was overall a wonderful experience for my daughters birthday! Good service is so hard to find, but not here.

We visited during happy hour and everything was fantastic! We ordered the Crazy Roll, Godzilla Roll, and Tootsie Roll. I particularly enjoyed the garlic chili edamame and dipping my sushi in the sauce. This will definitely be our new go-to sushi spot, especially considering how conveniently located it is!

This is an amazing place! They offer a Bento Box lunch, which you can customize for just a couple of dollars more, and it is absolutely delicious! You get to choose your main dish, a side, a salad, and sushi, all included. The portion sizes are just right—not too large—but with all the food that's included, it's 100% perfect! You'll definitely leave feeling full. I took my 16-year-old grandson, who can eat quite a bit, and he was definitely satisfied! I highly recommend the sushi for either lunch or dinner; you won't be disappointed. View menu

As a seasoned traveler, I can confidently say that Sushi Style in Phoenix is my favorite Japanese restaurant, and it has been for several years. It offers much more than just sushi, and everything I've tried has been exceptional. I highly recommend starting with happy hour, but don’t overlook the extensive menu. Personally, I enjoy the roast wine paired with the rug dishes, while my wife always opts for the Bento box for lunch, which she usually takes some home for dinner. Also, be sure to check out the daily specials listed on the whiteboard at the sushi bar!

The temperature was 54 degrees, yet the management chose to open three outside doors. They even thought it would be a good idea to seat guests outside, where there was no heat and no lighting. The teriyaki chicken tasted like tough shoe leather slathered in sauce. Perhaps it was just a bad night for the management, but they seemed to think everything was just fine as they walked around sniffing the air. I have no intention of returning, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, and I’ll be warning all my friends who appreciate a good Japanese experience to avoid Sushi Style at all costs.

Update from a 5 star review I wrote from last week... What was becoming/became a staple for us to eat came for a screeching hault today. We come in as we would, and there is no staff member upfront, so we wait as sometimes you do. Both sushi chefs look at us, and looks at the waiters around the restaurant, while 3 other waiters all look at us at some point, with one walking right by us. Not a single staff member acknowledged us, we walked right out. They lost money today. There are many other sushi places that would be glad to accept my money. So sad. This place has excellent food and some great deals... View menu

This restaurant is fantastic! They offer a wide variety of rolls, and everything I've tasted has been delicious. The appetizers and desserts are great, and I absolutely love the cheesecake tempura. The prices are reasonable, and during Happy Hour, they're exceptionally good. The portion sizes are generous, and I appreciate that they always provide extra ginger when I ask. The staff is consistently friendly, and the restaurant is well-maintained. It tends to get pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights, but the rest of the week it's moderately busy. My husband and I frequent this place, and no other restaurant I've tried compares!

This place was absolutely amazing. me and my boyfriend went there today and were shown great respect from the servers. Everyone was very friendly, including our server Sydney. The food was also fantastic. I got the mussels, crunchy tuna roll, squid salad, and the Las Vegas roll. My boyfriend got the bento box with teriyaki beef, crab puffs, and California rolls wich also came with Miso soup and salad. The prices for the food were also really good for the amount of food we got. The miso soup didnt fit his taste but I enjoyed it very much. The cleaning routine for the tables were fast and thorough. In all we really enjoyed it and will be going there again.

"i’ve been coming to lacuna for over two years now and this little gem is definitely one of my favorite places to be. i’m not much of a review-writer, but when i feel passionately about places (good or bad , i get inspired.as someone who leads an alcohol-free lifestyle, it is SO nice having this option to unwind and create some art, relax, or hang out with friends. i’ve truly made so many wonderful connections through lacuna that i will cherish for a lifetime!it’s also a great place to get work done. i work remote, so i spend a good majority of my week here at my second office ; the BOGO happy hour deal comes in clutch.i think it’s really great that there is a mix of events now too, not just strictly DJ’s performing 6-7 nights a week. (although i do absolutely love the nights when there’s a DJ as well ! the variety of events is great; chess tournaments, community coloring, workshops, recovery groups, massages, yoga etc. there’s been a lot of engaging activities that i enjoy attending or participating in.i feel like lacuna has become a lot stronger in both the workspace and community-front in the last year or so too. the kavatenders all have such a warm and positive energy and always make me feel special when i come in. it’s nice seeing management interacting with customers and staff more too. it’s nice overhearing the positive feedback from management to staff (or staff to staff , and hearing the conversations that the staff members have with guests. there just seems to be a lot more connection overall. lacuna is growing and glowing for sure. <3the price increase is a bit of a bummer, but in a time with inflation… what can you really do? i personally TRUST lacuna with their product and that’s what keeps me coming back. i know they put both quality and care into their products and it really reflects. it can be a pretty penny if you’re getting multiple drinks, but fancy craft cocktails at a regular bar can be the same way. plus, my points add up so quickly i get pretty frequent discounts with their reward system. it’s not the end of the world!i appreciate the subtle changes in the bar layout and decor too. even the little things keep it feeling fresh and a little new each time you come in.the *only* “negative” thing i have to say about the space is that it can be difficult to order a drink or close out a tab sometimes. there’s rushes and it gets busy, but sometimes it feels as if one staff member just isn’t enough during these times. sometimes there’s not a lot of communication about this either between staff and people trying to close out, but i’ve been coming here for awhile now so i know what to expect. if you’re in a time crunch, just give yourself a little buffer or cushion of time to get closed out (or order to go right off the bat and close out immediately .all things considered, though, 5 stars all the way around! lacuna is an ever-evolving, ever-growing spot and i’m excited to see what the future looks like for you guys! : bulaaaa!!!!"
