"It was quite a challenge to locate this place, but I'm really glad I finally did! It's situated on the third outdoor terrace, and you can access it in two ways: you can either take the elevator to the third floor after entering the building or use the outdoor staircase and hope the glass door is unlocked. Primarily, it’s a cozy café catering to those in the building, offering coffee, pastries, smoothies, and acai bowls. I opted for the large acai bowl priced at $10, which came loaded with generous portions of acai, granola, bananas, strawberries, honey, and a few cashews. The acai was slightly icy, but I didn't mind it at all. The bowl was heaped full and an excellent value! The service was outstanding – super friendly and very quick! I'd definitely choose to come here over some other well-known places in the area. If you can find it, it's definitely worth the trip!"

The coffee here is even better than Starbucks! I’m not joking! The staff is incredibly friendly, especially Jennie (I believe that's her name). She always crafts my drink to perfection. My only issue is that there never seem to be enough zucchini loaves available. They are amazing! Still, it brightens my day when I'm lucky enough to grab one. A big thank you to the whole team for everything you do!

At first, this restaurant seemed a little iffy, but the owner was incredibly friendly and made me feel like I was chatting with my older relatives. I ordered the Pandan Coconut Coffee, and he asked how sweet I preferred it, offering to customize it to my taste. He also suggested some other popular menu items, but I wasn't hungry at the moment and didn’t end up ordering anything else. I will definitely try their waffles on my next visit! View menu

I visited today and ordered a Sunshine smoothie along with a toasted bagel. I come here frequently, and I’ve always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I've also tried their iced coffee and cold brew, both of which I really enjoy for their great taste and quality. This spot is located on the third-floor terrace of the Columbia One building at the corner of Columbia and B Street. There’s also a lovely patio where you can kick back and relax while you sip your coffee.

Feeling under the weather, I wanted something nutritious to boost my energy. I ordered the Reboot Smoothie and was thrilled to discover a Yelp promotion that allowed me to get a large for the price of a small. Thank you, Yelp! I also tried the Brazilian Açaí Bowl, which was simply delightful! It was beautifully presented and incredibly tasty—an ideal combination of fruit, crunch, and a smooth base. This place truly feels like a hidden gem. The server was friendly and attentive as well. Overall, it was a great, comfortable spot to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before starting my day.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
