"We were pleasantly surprised by how good this place is the atmosphere is truly cozy and rustic. They have live music 6 days of the week and everyone was having a great time. Happy hour is every day from 3 6pm which includes 3 popular appetizers, all their whiskey cocktails, and some wines. As for the food, while I definitely have had better steak or crab cakes elsewhere, I have to applaud the uniqueness and freshness of the items. Cactus fries, boar meatballs, and quail are just some of the few items that piqued our interest, and they were done very well. Don’t sleep on their sides! The wood grilled broccolini tasted amazing and had that smoky, woodsy taste. Our server Paige was very knowledgeable of the Rustic’s farm to table sourcing, and even surprised us with a peanut butter dessert at the end of our lavish meal. We really enjoyed our night out at this homey restaurant and can’t wait to come back and try the other items!Parking: Parking spots are small and limited as this restaurant is in a shopping center."

It was fun but I would avoid ordering food. Way too expensive. I like the atmosphere and even the dirt floor.

The brunch offerings were quite satisfying! The server and manager ensured my food allergies were known before my food was served. I would definitely go again.

We went for brunch and enjoyed the live music on stage. The combination of delicious food and great ambiance was superb. The menu and portion size for brunch were just right. View menu

The service provided by Javier was exceptional and the atmosphere was lively and energetic. The food was delicious and the restaurant had a relaxed ambiance with background music from live bands. I highly recommend making a reservation and utilizing the valet service.

The best brunch I've ever had. Such a great mixture of comfort food. Cheesy potatoes hash browns, jalapeños sausage, battered chicken, avocado toast, quiche, berries. It had it all. Not too expensive. If you want something different from boring breakfast on the weekends, GO THERE!

Love coming here! There’s live music in the evenings most of the time, options to dine inside or out, food is always superb and service great! Today we had Paige as our server and she was the best ever! Parking can be tight, especially as the evening goes on. You may have to park a little bit sways, but it’s worth it . The plank salmon is my favorite! Also recommend the smoked dip dip. Yummy and the presentation is great! View menu

I typically don't write reviews, but my experience last night at The Rustic was unexpectedly disappointing. I had been to this restaurant before and the food didn't meet my expectations. I ordered my usual drink, an old fashioned, but what I received tasted like cheap Fireball whiskey from my younger days. The waiter did replace the drink with something closer to what I had in mind. The New York strip I ordered seemed to have been previously frozen, as it flaked and crumbled. To top it off, the banana pudding was more like banana Jell-O with Nilla wafers. However, the saving grace was the delicious Mac and cheese. Perhaps they should have the Mac and cheese chef also handle the drinks next t...

We were looking for a nice, casual restaurant to celebrate a birthday and all the reviews said The Rustic was nice so we decided to check it out.The ambiance is very nice as the restaurant is large and spacious. The food was decent, average but a bit overpriced for the casual food. The service, especially who was assisting us, wasn’t good. their barely did their job and seemed more focused on chatting with other servers than serving. even when i would ask questions, they barely responded with any information.we started out with the cornbread/corn pie, then had the That salad and then had the shellsncheese, the burger and the french dip. the food was decent with decent flavors and portion siz...

"Dear Gyu-kaku, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the service I received during my recent visit to Gyu-kaku on October 7 at 8:00pm. While I have had positive experiences at your restaurant in the past, this particular visit left me extremely dissatisfied. Upon entering the restaurant, I was seated at a table that was clearly inadequate for my party's needs. We had made a reservation for 10 people, but the table provided could only accommodate 8. This immediately set the tone for our experience. To make matters worse, a waitress (not my main waitress) rushed us through the meal. She told us to put food to our places so she can have spaces to put more trays of meat. However, this is BBQ and the food just arrived within 5 mins. The meat hasn't even done yet to be edible. I asked her to set the trays at another table and we can grab them when we're done with our current plates. She said she couldn't do that and we must divide the food now so she could have spaces to set more trays. It was very reasonable to rush your customers through the meal. We're paying for our dinings. Gyu-kaku is a place to enjoy high quality Japenese food, and the service should uphold the standards of its high quality, not this rude and unprofessionalism. I value the dining experiences I have had at Gyu-kaku in the past, which is why I am particularly disappointed by this recent visit. I believe that the issues I have outlined above do not align with the high standards I have come to expect from your establishment."

"They recently changed their hours, so now they only stay open until 8 PM. This is quite strange, especially since it's summer, the movie theater in El Paseo is much busier following the closure of the AMC theater in Vallco, and it’s not even dark yet at that time. I really think they’re missing out on a lot of potential business. Additionally, they've added a code to the bathroom door, which makes me wonder if they were having issues with non-customers using it previously. It’s hard to say. What I do know is that during my brief visit, everyone who was given the code had difficulty opening the door because it included a special character at the end of a long string of numbers that nobody could remember. On a brighter note, they serve delicious coffee and pastries, and the staff is both knowledgeable and friendly. The strawberry pop tart had a lovely pastry crust that seemed to have been brushed with egg white to give it a nice sheen. The filling tasted *exactly* like Smucker's strawberry jelly… In fact, I suspect it might have actually been Smucker's! Whether that’s a good or bad thing is up to personal taste. However, I found it odd that while they offer several unusual ingredients for unique drinks, like turmeric and ginger for golden drinks, their selection of more standard flavored syrups is extremely limited. There’s no raspberry, no strawberry, and no other berry flavors—just chocolate, honey, coconut, and of course, turmeric. Their golden drinks have more of a winter flavor profile anyway, which is probably why they’re not currently on the menu. They have no specials at the moment (though they mentioned they can still make the turmeric drinks), zero fruit flavors, and a very limited selection of syrups. Come on, guys! Don’t rest on your laurels. What are you doing to stay competitive? Be sure to grab your turmeric latte before 8 PM!"
