"The restaurant has a cool vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating. Since the weather was pleasant and breezy, we chose to sit outside. The tables are equipped with umbrellas for shade, but the trees provided enough cover so we didn't need them. The menu is straightforward, just one page long, making it easy to navigate and very descriptive of each dish. The scrambled eggs caught our attention since they seemed popular on Yelp, so my wife and I each picked a different scramble. She chose the prosciutto and pesto, while I went with chorizo and cheddar. Both were fantastic! The portion sizes and seasoning were spot on, making each dish a winner. Since these were just our first tries, we’re excited to return and sample more options. I also ordered the Stuffed French Toast, which I got as a kids’ portion (one slice), with the full order being two pieces. The French toast was filled with a sweet cheese—possibly mascarpone?—and it was incredible! Drizzling it with syrup took it to another level, a delightful explosion of flavors in every bite. The service was excellent, definitely a 5 out of 5. The recommendation to go for the single slice of stuffed French toast was perfect, especially considering the large portions of the scramble. We will certainly be back! If you’re looking for a fantastic brunch spot in Chicago, TOAST is the place to go."

Came here on a Sunday with a friend and without a reservation got seated pretty quick. The French toast orgy was pretty heavy, but a bit disappointing the flavors mixed in a bad way for me and I couldn't pinpoint the flavor it was going for. My friend got the Benedict's and they were much more pleasant. But overall I feel like this place was just alright

Due to medical dietary restriction, this is going to be an unfair review because I was very limited to what I could eat. I had scrambled cheesy eggs with pesto sauce and Chai tea. While my guest had an apple, pear and gruyere cheese crepe with coffee. Everything was good expect the crepe was extremely lacking. The fruit inside wasn't warm or cooked it was left raw and cold. The bill came out to $30 and wasn't worth it. I hope to come back to try a specialty dish.

Great quality offerings! Metric Coffee and Rishi Tea are top-notch. The preparation service is excellent. Plus, Nadia has a trustworthy palate. The $7 Mushroom Swiss Crepe made for a delightful light meal, simply wrapping a generous amount of mushrooms. In this neighborhood, lightly sweetened almond milk is the standard, and it paired wonderfully with Rishi's Masala Chai Latte. Metric Coffee consistently impresses; as Nadia suggests, try it black with brown sugar. It was indeed delicious—clean and well-balanced!

$11 for 2 eggs, a side, and potatoes?? When did Bucktown become home to such an extortionate diner? My breakfast burger with prosciutto, arugula, and an egg is probably the best-value item on the menu. I get it though, the place is called Toast so they like to serve breads and griddle breads (pancakes). Plain 'cakes start at $6 so I still can 't digest the markup for basic breakfast. There are way too many options around Roscoe Village (and all of Chicago) for me to make the trip here to wait for $11 pepper and eggs. But, hey, Metropolis coffee is always appreciated. View menu

This was a pleasant surprise. Arrived on a Saturday at 10am. Super busy but got promptly seated 20 minutes after checking in. Waiter was great. The entire wait staff was friendly, checked in on us often and made sure my coffee cup never emptied. I noticed they quickly turn over tables so that new folks coming in can get seated quickly. Loved that. The restaurant is small and cozy with a diner like appeal. I had the breakfast burrito with avocado. Came with a side of amazeball potatoes! I also had the mimosa flight. Everything tasted great! Super fresh and perfectly seasoned. I also got a side of chicken sausage. It was so good! Huge portion too! I would come back. Highly recommend.

Toast has been a staple for what feels like an eternity, and for good reason. They serve a consistently excellent brunch. I've never had a disappointing meal there, whether I’m enjoying the eggs Benedict with steak or the breakfast burrito; the food quality and portion sizes always impress me. They also offer a nice kids' menu, but I recommend skipping the s'mores pancakes unless you want your child to go wild with sugar afterward. The service is top-notch, and the food arrives promptly. Plus, they have crayons and paper for the little ones. I give them 4 stars instead of 5 because, while I really enjoy their brunch, there isn't a standout dish that I absolutely love or crave. I choose Toast...

Great brunch and breakfast place. Wide variety of options including different benedict's, sandwiches, pancakes, and stuffed french toast! This month they have a gingerbread pancake on special. We tried the belt sandwhich and the pancake orgy. The sandwhich was served fresh and on the most delicious bread. The pancake orgy was incredible@ 3 different flavored pancakes topped with berries, yogurt, and granola! I was super happy to hear i could change out the flavors if i wanted too. I choose chocolate chip, pecan, and lemon poppy seed. The lemon was my favorite! My only complaints are that the place is set up where everytime someone opens the door col air comes in. We came before the crowd so... View menu

This was my friend 's last stop before I dropped him off at the airport and if this was the sole determining factor for him to return, I 'm not sure if he would. There were a only a few tables, there since it was a weekday and in the late morning. I 'm not one for a sweet breakfast so, I didn 't get their sweet options: no pancake orgy or stuffed French toast for this guy. I went with their Breakfast burger which sounded really good but when I got it was just ok for me. The patty seemed pretty small, especially since the french 'bolo ' bread was pretty big, it seemed no different than a ciabatta to me so I didn 't understand the distinction. The sandwich was pretty bland; the prosciutto seem...

It 's a little toasty in here , I thought aloud to my husband when we walked in. See what I did there? He humored me by throwing out a chuckle. We arrived around 11:30am and waited about 20 minutes for a table in this ~50 seater establishment. Parties of 2-3 after us were quoted 20-30 minutes, but I 'm sure it was longer. Bottomless Bowtruss coffee served here. He got the chorizo and jalapeño scrambler, and I chose the scrambler with pesto and prosciutto. They 're pretty much cheesy scrambled eggs with the aforementioned ingredients mixed in and served with seasoned red taters on the side. My scrambler was a little salty. The Miss Foodie Piggy in me ordered a short stack of the seasonal ging...

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
