"Eliot is authentic, honest, and an amazing chef. My group had some folks with vegan/gf restrictions, and some who preferred meat over veggies. We all left very satisfied, and we're just sad we hadn't found Whole in the Wall earlier! We will definitely be returning to enjoy the cozy atmosphere and homemade dishes, and to support such a wonderful local establishment. They also offer homemade pestos, marinara sauces, and soups available in-store and online. We didn't get a chance to try these, but … – show"

Amazing dinner. Owner and staff were professional and friendly! It’s my favorite weekend dinner place. I heard they do catering too! View menu

The waiter/Owner Was kinda creepy he was lurking around our table and asking random questions when we were trying to eat our food, NEVER RETURNING AGAIN! DONT COME HERE..

Bought their basil pesto at wegmans and it was filled with woody stems from the basil plant. So much so I couldn’t even enjoy it and had to spit out my dinner and throw the rest out. I tried to salvage the container but it was literally all full of woody stems. At $7.50 for a small container this was so disappointing and upsetting! Whole in the Wall needs to do better quality control when making this product

Last I visited Whole in the Wall a quaint vegan experience in the Southside neighborhood of Binghamton. I had a great time! with wondeful savory food in a rustic simple atmosphere. There was music that day, and the staff was polite. All dishes are homemade and each jas it's own unique flavor. I highly recommend trying them out for wholesome delight meals. I believe they offer takeout and delivery via doordash. View menu

Made a reservation for 4 on a Saturday night at 6. Was glad to hear they could accommodate one extra guest last minute. Arrived to see we were the only table eating in (table of 2 was finishing up). While the owner gave our table a lot of attention, we were disappointed to find out that water was only served in bottles. The food was alright and we didn’t mind the wait for freshly cooked. Got the bill to find out $3 per water bottle made our tab a bit unreasonable.

Lovely lunch for 2: mushroom soup, Mediterranean platter, garlic ball, pesto pasta, raspberry brownie sundae. Everything tasted very good. Some things have changed presumably due to COVID: no more pesto dip crackers, no free water, all food served on single use products, no menu of the day with the desserts listed. Nothing major, just different. Comments below about ‘creepy’ staff seem unreasonable. We’ve always appreciated friendly chat with wait staff, the owner, musicians — it’s part of … – show

"Had a really horrible experience with Strange Brew after several years of going there occasionally for coffee and a dessert or a breakfast sandwich alone or with my husband and son. Ordered a Chef Special Salad. Description is “arugula, roasted beets, goat cheese, sliced almonds, dried cranberries, roasted pulled chicken, mustard tarragon dressing “ for $12 (an entree salad per the manager). There was a ton of arugula but very, very little of everything else — see photos. I was shocked when I saw this and immediately called them. I had already used my lunch break to pick up the salad so couldn’t go back to return it. The manager had me take photos and email them twice, talked twice on the phone, and then said the other ingredients only looked sparse because I had mixed up the salad. The side photo clearly shows little mixed below the surface. Why make me go to this effort and then insult me by suggesting I was hiding the ingredients. Manager offered to bring me a new salad but if he thinks the original is acceptable, then we’re back where we started. Plus it’s getting late and I don’t have any more time. I did the right thing by calling immediately and sending photos. That should have been the end of it with the charge being reversed on the unacceptable item, apology made, and asking me to come back to try them again sometime, or some normal response like that. Instead, he starts being subtly insulting and trying to negotiate half off since it’s like a side salad — but I didn’t order a side salad, it’s supposed to be an entree salad! I didn’t get what I paid for, end of story. This is 100% unsatisfactory. Beware of buying food there if this is how it can be, a rip-off. And you will be treated badly by the management to boot. Just read a few other reviews that were negative and the manager or owner gives a long defensive response, citing industry standards and supporting small businesses for why the complaint isn’t legit, even insulting another reviewer. The bottom line here is that a customer found their experience to be unsatisfactory, was asked to prove it by providing photos, was still not believed, a lot of time was wasted along the way, and the customer service experience was very negative. This is not the way it should go."
