"The food itself was mediocre at best. I ordered the purple potatoes(bland but dipped in ranch you can’t go wrong with potatoes), wedge burger(dry), lobster Mac cheese(was ok, not spectacular). Not worth the price hype. I could say my expectations were high, I really thought the food would wow me. But the ahi nachos up the street from Roof Top Lounge were 100000000% better than all of those items. I ordered the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Everyone RAVED over it. Unfortunately, it fell short as well. It was my least favorite. When I poured the sauce on, there were chunks. The flavor was bland. BUT the staff were kind. So I’d give staff 5/5 stars, the food 2/5. I stayed above the restaurant, was here for 3 days. Hoping to have a better turn out next time I stay eat here. The free bread butter were very good. 5/5 on that."

This is a very nice, fancy place. The waiters are attentive and the personnel in general is very good. We had the manager come to the table as well during the visit to check if everything is good. It is an expensive restaurant, but it is worth it, for sure. The food is very well-prepared and delicious. We even got a piece of cake, since we had a birthday celebration dinner. It was a wonderful experience.

Excellent food! First rate service and ambiance that will make you feel like you are in the Rat Pack. Gorgeous asparagus, beautifully cooked fish, lobster mac is amazing, one of the best burgers I've ever had (who knew I liked blue cheese? , delicious risotto and the escargot was perfect. I need to go back to try the souffle, but the creme brulee was quite good. Drinks were poured with a heavy hand, which is always appreciated. The crowd leans to the older side, and you need to dress like a real adult to eat here. Those with mobility issues take note, the are quite a few stairs inside. Overall, highly recommend.

"What truly made Zubie's popular was its prime rib, especially during the weekly navy nights. To get a reservation, you had to call in early that morning. Reservations were handled like tickets for a concert—first come, first served. You’d secure a time slot, arrive, give your name, pay a mere $2.85 (back in the '70s), and then wait in line. Once inside, seating was family-style at picnic tables set over a sawdust-covered floor. Sadly, the area eventually fell victim to coastal development, but before that happened, Zubie opened a few other beloved local spots: Zubie’s Dry Dock in Huntington Beach and Zubie’s Chicken Coop near Newport Beach. Interestingly, Zubie’s Chicken Coop was once an upscale French restaurant right on the Pacific Coast Highway, complete with a chic French name, plush carpets, and valet parking. I’m not sure how Zubie acquired it, but he completely revamped the place, eliminating its fancy menu and valet service while adding a bit of sawdust to the carpet before reopening the doors. Not much has changed since then—a few new tables have replaced the worn-out French ones, and the sawdust gets topped off occasionally. Known among locals for its generous portions and freshly cooked homemade dishes, Zubie's continues to be a favorite spot. I did find the rotisserie chicken a bit disappointing, which seemed like a nod to its pizza-less pizza history. It’s amusing to see multimillionaire yacht owners mingling at the bar over breakfast, sharing jokes with local mechanics. Although Captain John Zubieta has passed away, the restaurant is still in the capable hands of his wife, who has managed to keep Zubie's charm alive. She has since sold the place but still oversees Zubie's Dry Dock in Huntington Beach. Thankfully, the tradition of weekly Prime Rib Night endures!"
