Nine Bean Rows is a favorite restaurant of ours. We dine there often. Good selection of foods, most of it locally grown. Service is attentive and friendly. Nice selection of drinks, wines, better and hard cider. Indoor and outdoor seating.

9 Bean Rose is one of my favorite restaurants in the Traverse City area. My husband and I make it a point to visit every time we are on vacation there. The food is delicious the menu changes and we love the focus on in season, locally sourced vegetables. Staff is always kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is well known to us and we frequent often. It is under new ownership Wren the Butcher. We were looking forward to trying his food. We had heard he does a great job. Unfortunately our experience was disappointing. After 45 mins cocktails arrived ..... delicious. We still haven’t ordered at 60 mins and decided not worth the wait. Beautiful patio out back with some herbs growing around our table. Our server wasn’t particularly attentive, but there were other staff supporting the server as well. I was kind of surprised at how wintery the menus seemed(lots of potato dishes and there were kraut and carrots on some dishes) but I think we might have just not been told the specials that night. Everything was delicious. I could eat the spaetzle for every meal.

We made reservations for our vacation based off of recent reviews prior to the ownership change. Unfortunately the food was mediocre at best.My husband’s hanger steak was tough and inedible. My first entree of pan seared walleye was rubbery and tasteless. The server was gracious and replaced it with salmon which was much better. The roasted beet salad was very good. The sauce on the salmon was also delicious. However our meal was overall disappointing at 100 plus a tip for 120 total. For that, I expect excellent food. We will not be returning.

We have been going there for years. It changes Chefs a couple of years ago and re-opened and was just OK. Recently, there was a change in ownership/management and we tried it. The service was spotty and the staff seemed a bit confused. We got some bread/dinner rolls with water and the rolls were tough and cold. There was a tiny spot of butter with the 2 rolls. Onward to cocktails. My wifes wine was OK and my draft beer was tasty and cold. That's the end of the good news. We ordered Hanger steaks for $23.00 ea.
