"My fiance and I attend this restaurant on occasion for a date night. We've never had a poor experience! The food and service is always great. Our last visit really stood out, Jena H was our server and she was very professional and attentive. Unfortunately our food ticket got lost in the kitchen, but she didn't miss a beat! She let us know, refilled our drinks, and sent out a complimentary small plate to hold us over. The food came out shortly after us finishing the small plate, and it was still just as good. We great appreciate the great food, service, and atmosphere and look forward to continue to visit!"

Recommended to come to this restaurant from multiple friends. Atmosphere was great, and drinks were good. Server was not attentive and seemed inexperienced. Charcuterie board bread was very over salted. Salmon and steak entrees were also extremely over salted and mashed potatoes were served cold. Not a meal worth over $150. Maybe it was an off night service wise?

Found a worm moving around in my salad after a few bites. My wife had a salad also and a side of fries. No worms in hers but only thing they did was offer a dessert and take my salad off the bill… Customer service crazy poor. No manager came out to apologize and didn’t offer to take anything else off. Just told the sweet waitress (who was obviously not at fault) to have to deal with it. Will not be going back.

Artisian 179 was fantastic. The owner and staff went above and beyond to ensure our meal was satisfactory. I would highly recommend the amish chicken. It was absolutely delicious! It's always nice when a dish has such a perfect combination of flavors and textures. And the owner showed up at our table. Such a wonderful touch! It's always special when the owner takes the time to personally thank guests. It definitely adds to the overall dining experience. View menu

If I could rate this place a ZERO I would. We were referred this place by a GF app for my husband, but we were denied service by the owner when we showed up because we had children with us. He was incredibly rude and claimed he had “reservations coming in”. But lied because when my husband went in without us 5 minutes later (without our children) he was happy to provide him seating for his “party of 8”. We have never been treated so poorly. We will stick to our Chicago restaurants that serve whole family!

Busy Sat night and a group of 7 of us dined there celebrating a friend’s birthday. When the meal came, 4 of the dishes were too salty. The owner came around asking how the meals were and we told him about the salty-ness. He immediate took the dishes and had them replaced. Much better! They sent over four wonderful desserts for sharing as well!! Excellent business response! Will be back and highly recommend. When there is an issue, please address with the owner/manager so they can take care of it otherwise they will never know. They WANT to make patrons happy :

"I was expecting a fusty old supper club, resting on its laurels. Boy was I wrong sure, they have the standby prime rib and surf n turf (which looked great, although we didn 't partake) but they have some really terrific, seasonal offerings which impress. Plus you get some of the old standard supper club starters of fresh bread, crackers, and breadsticks with cheese spread and a housemade ham spread. We got to the place a little early on a Wednesday night without a reservation, so we had a cocktail at the bar while we waited for the dining room to get set up. Lots of places say they make craft cocktails but are just throwing random stuff in a glass and hoping it turns out okay not here. The Horticulture combined gin with a garden 's worth of herbal and floral flavors which melded nicely. When our server, Michelle, mentioned a ramp appetizer, we jumped at the chance it 's spring and you eat all the ramps you can, right? Ramps Three Ways was really lovely a salad of ramp tops with orange premiers, toasted hazelnuts, chevre (I think) and a vinaigrette; a spread of ramps with rhubarb and rosemary; and a ramp bulb/potato hash on...well, hell, I don 't remember what it was on but it was savory and melded well. My husband had the lamb shank on onion risotto with a lamb broth, because did I mention spring? Fall off the bone and deeply flavorful. I had the pork cheeks alongside a bed of mashed potatoes with grana cheese and sauerkraut which all combined for perfect mouthfuls. The service was attentive and cheerful in a not annoying way. The wine list is quite solid as well. Overall, really glad to add this to our dining repertoire!"
