"we have told the server (one of the owners is that we were vegan and he took away our menus and said that we don't need them and then tell us that he would serve us the most amazing vegan meals of our life. I was very excited to let someone else make the decisions and he brought us two mysterious dishes where we had to guess what the main ingredient was. we were wrong, but spent the meal completely melted in the solution of the secret that added to the culinary experience. I will not say what the mysterious ingredients were, so they can have their own experience, but eating was absolutely amazing and so tasteful and creatiw. the dishes were a combination of Indian and Italian or Indian and Mexican, who really go well together. we went back in the next night for two different mysteries dishes and then ordered three more meal times to go for the next day when we drove to the house down the Californian coast. it is a family-run device that adds to the warmth and friendliness of the place. we huged when we left last time. it really made a difference that the owner was also the server because he knew everything about her eating and what vegan is and was so excited to prepare us something new and interesting (instead of saying something like oh, so that she eat fish? or I need to check if they can do this without eating. we loved it there and look forward to the next time we are in the opposite! 2022, a few years later, returned and equally happy. they made us enchiladas with a maulp and what tasted like a mango sauce, and hung through disc wipers with grilled vegetables. delicious! updated by previous review on 2022-02-01"

They will make a special vegan meal for you if you tell them you’re vegan—I lived in India for a year, and this is definitely one of the best Indian meals I’ve had. “Marindian” as it says on their menu! Truly fine and so unique.

This lively gem is worth an evening out! Great service and yummy vegan food served by the playful owner. Wine was good, too! Would give it five stars if it offered a higher variety of vegan options, but the house vegan special is honestly delicious, and would go back just for that!

We read the reviews for this place and thought we'd give the special vegan meal a try. The food was very good, fresh and healthy. The owner even made us guess the ingredients. Even though the owner said, we wouldn't find better vegan food elsewhere, I have to admit I've had better vegan meals in other places : . View menu

Really...it was good, but don't tell the boss it was the best...or he will change you double!! As a vegan, I had what the owner recommended a delicious curry and shared an Indian enchilada with my spouse... All in all delicious vegan, and vegan friendly dishes. They do prepare food with fish, lamb and other animal bits but they are careful to avoid cross contamination..

Fun experience where special vegan meals are only made for them when they say they are vegan. very creative applications from veggies! everything tasted really good, especially the maissamosas. children's dishes (for all-eaters) were expensive and the children hardly ate them because this restaurant does not use regular brot. the meals were expensive when you were a third of the served was reis. updated by the previous review on 2021-07-16

It was so good to know that there is a restaurant in Sausalito where you can have a vegan meal. Or, according to the manager, the best vegan meal you ever tried . That is an enchilada filled with carrot puree and cocoa sauce. OK, that was tasty. But so so so so so pricey!!!. For two persons we paid 60 dollars (samosas 2 courses 1 coke), and it was the most expensive dinner that we had during our stance in San Francisco. We had better, bigger and cheaper meals in other places, so I was fully disappointed. I don 't know whether to recommend this place or not. View menu

wow, we had so lucky that we went to avatar at a visit to sausalito. we were greeted by the nicest people of all time and when we told them we were vegan, they took our menus and we were pleased that they would prepare something wonderful for our dinner and they really delivered it! the eating was amazing literally the best we had in California and we centered our journey from santa barbara to sausalito around the ice cream. Of course I will not give away the special main ingredient from our meal at avatar’s, but what I can tell them is it vegan and it is absolutely delicious. 10/10 worth the visit and I will probably go back to sausalito from the east coast because I love it!

"My god! I am in 7th heaven Finally a real and true quality Italian restaurant. I spent my first 18 years growing up in Europe so I have a pretty high bar and after years of trying the so called top restaurants in Los Angeles (for 6 years) and SF I just gave up eating at Italian restaurants (with the exception of Il Cortile in Paso) and made my favorite pasta dishes at home. What a fool I have been! Went to Poggio on a Saturday date night with my favorite Foodie and was blown away! All the right stuff that you find in my fave places in Tuscany or Sicily! Opened with a fantastic classic Negroni already the bustling dark large dining room was changing into a Fellini movie and a top waiter Bart advised expertly one menu items: Started with Vitello thin sliced veal, tonnato sauce, fried capers, frisee, radish, meyer lemon omg with the flatbread multo bene! The the shared primo piatti: PAPPARDELLE (home made) braised pork ragu, taggiasca olives, cavolo nero, parmigiano reggiano omg again! The pasta was the best, the ragout deep and flavorful. I had picked a Montepulciano red for the heavy meat dishes, but the expert waiter recommended a Valpolicella that just nailed it! Secondi piatti: BRASATO, red wine braised lamb shank, potato puree, roasted eggplant peppers, basil omg for the 3rd time! Osso Buco like falling off the bone. By now my beautiful date and I were floating in the dolce vita of heavenly food and I decided to come here every week and eat my way through the menu ! Desert was a perfectly executed Creme brûlée with fresh berries and hallelujah! Finally an Italian place that had great grappa as a digestivo! Food 6 stars Service by Bart 6 stars Ambience 5 stars on a busy Sat. Mangia da Poggio that 's amoré"
