"When we got there at 430pm we were told the wait for a table was 55 mins or we could sit at the bar now. I asked if we could sit at the several empty tables, but was told NO. Our 5yr old was with us and we didn't want to try our luck at another restaurant with the impending dinner rush, so we sat at the bar. A little bit of time went by and other families were now being seated at the empty tables. It is a bit strange that we were told no yet others could sit there considering there is a NO RESERVATION policy. I got the snow crab legs and they were dry, with hot shells but cool meat, I'm guessing they were reheated from the lunch rush. Husband got the grouper which was very good. The kids fish was dry. Not impressed"

Fresh local seafood! Good selection of local beers available. Service was better than average even though they were very busy. Seating was a bit cramped.

Went a little early and sat at the bar for dinner. Cort out server/ bartender was great. Even learned a little something about oysters which were delicious according to my husband. Shrimp and crabmeat was amazing and my husband looks forward to the fresh tuna salad sandwich every year. View menu

Annual tradition of waiting it out for hours to get a seat at the raw bar for dinner (even though I have a shellfish allergy). The wife loves her some family traditions. She’s been going for 35+ years with her family (and the last 12 with me). Great service. Great food. Just a great tradition. #ThanksAwfulArthurs

Been going here for over 30 years and always amazing ! Staff is great always friendly, food is delicious! Raw oysters, Alfredo shrimp and scallops, Teriyaki tuna sandwich, tuna bites, calamari, steamed clams, crab lobster bisque (we take a frozen quart home every year with us All of the food is amazing, you won't be disappointed! It can get really busy during the season so expect a long wait especially if you have little ones or big parties, the pier is a great way to kill some time playing games

"I never actually ate here, but let me tell you, that was probably for the best. My experience with Kill Devil Grill started with me trying to order food online. Silly me, I thought that would be a straightforward process. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. After fighting with their broken online system, I decided to give them a call. You know, like people used to do in the dark ages before the internet. I was on hold for a while, but hey, I figured they were busy whipping up some delicious food. How naive of me. When I finally got through to the host, I explained my situation, expecting at least a smidge of empathy or, I don’t know, a willingness to help. Instead, I was hit with a line that’s going to be etched in my memory forever: The kitchen said no. This was after they asked, how many things are you going to order? Really? No. Just... no. No explanation, no apology, no attempt to even pretend like they cared. Apparently, asking to place an order over the phone was too much for them to handle. I mean, how dare I want to give them money in exchange for food? The nerve! Look, I’ve dealt with bad service before, but this was a whole new level of ridiculous. The fact that they couldn’t even be bothered to take an order says everything you need to know about this place. Customer service? What’s that? The people running this joint clearly have no clue. Honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t actually get to try their food. If their service is this bad, I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. Maybe the kitchen didn’t say no —maybe it was trying to warn me. In any case, I’ve taken the hint. I won’t be bothering Kill Devil Grill with my pesky orders again. If you value your time, money, or basic human decency, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place."
