"Food was delicious, especially the Texas brisket burger; however, the service was a bit lackluster. For example, my reservation stated that my husband and I would be informing his parents, who were visiting from France, over dinner that we are expecting (it was also his mother’s birthday), yet my husband was greeted with shock and dismay when he arrived and noted our 8:30 reservation with a request to dine outside. The server told my husband that there were no reservations made for 8:30, yet when he checked the computer my husband could see over his shoulder that our name was explicitly listed and we were the ONLY reservation...how could they not set aside a table for 4 outside considering the circumstances of and reasoning for the dinner?? Seemed rude and inconsiderate, overall...but the food was indeed delicious."

The tacos at this restaurant are incredible. I enjoyed the al pastor taco, while my friend had the avocado BLT. We both loved our choices.

Our drinks at Bar Basic were quite good and reasonably priced, our food was OK one of the dishes came out less hot than I would have expected and the tacos were on the pricey side for the quantity of food. The outdoor space is quite cute when the weather permits outdoor dining.

Bar Basic is an amazing spot for grabbing a drink! They also feature live music and have a very welcoming atmosphere. Personally, I believe they serve the top margarita in Park Slope. Kendall, the bartender, is exceptionally friendly and makes the most delicious margaritas in the area!

This restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. I only had a quick drink, but I wish it had more flavor and was less watered down. However, it is a consistently cool spot. I may try their food next time since the reviews are positive. I appreciate the spacious and airy interior, as well as the outdoor patio in the back. View menu

it was our first time to eat there. I had seen it on open table and was a good experience. happy hour is on tables from certain times, and drinks were amazing! only wished that she made an surprise dessert for my friend, as we went there to celebrate his birthday, and indicated on an open suggestion. Apart from that, I would recommend this place and go back to the future!

The signature cocktails and food was ok. We ordered appetizers and entrees and everything was brought out at the same time which is a no no. There was barely any room on the table and by the time we got to entree, it was no longer hot. The service was not good at all. The server was busy sitting at the bar on her phone and chatting with the bartender. I felt like I was bothering her to ask for water and napkins. This place needs to better manage the staff.

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
