"Don't expect frills or fuss here. But if you want a delicious, homestyle breakfast at a family owned spot, this is the place to go! It's a very small restaurant with only a few tables. We were lucky enough to grab a booth that had just been vacated on a recent Saturday morning. There was a sign posted at the register and entrance about the long waits for food due to staffing, but we had nowhere to be and did not mind waiting. With delicious, hot coffee, the wait was definitely bearable. I was wavering between a couple of options and the sweet lady slinging coffee and taking orders made some suggestions if we wanted full bellies but not a ton of food apparently her husband makes the pancakes too big! I had a pancake platter, small size, and hubby had a breakfast sandwich. Both were good sized portions for the price. Everything was tasty. Crispy bacon and shelled eggs, just how I like them. My only critique would be on the cleanliness. There's a lot of dusty knick knacks around the restaurant and the place looks like it could use a good spring cleaning. The food is great and I would certainly return if we venture up to Chincoteague again."

*full disclosure: didn't eat here* Tried for twenty mins to get someone to answer (during their routine open hours) but was unable to call in. Based on this we won't be trying again, an online food ordering option might be a meaningful investment.

We had lunch there in the 2nd week of November in 2023. We ordered one sandwich for each of us. The sandwiches were large and were quite tasty. The staff were friendly as well. Overall, it was a good experience and we would gladly go back there again.

Right when you walk in the door everyone is so nice. They even sat is before they were officially open which I have never personally experienced in a dining situation before. Everything was super tasty and felt like a family establishment. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast View menu

The food was great. It was fairly priced and I could tell this was a local hotspot. They were understaffed but made the best of it. We really appreciated how hard the waitresses worked to continue to make sure that their customers were taken care of despite the obstacles. Would definitely come back!

Decided to stop by for breakfast on a Saturday morning and glad we did! The restaurant was busy but our waiter was kind and the food came out in a timely manner. I had the French toast and it was a classic home-cooked meal. My meal was missing the eggs at first but I let them know and they took care of it and they were yum! The prices are also very reasonable.

Hands down, the best breakfast in Chincoteague. If you are undecided where to go to get a decent omelette, then look no further. I was warmly welcomed by the hostess and she took my order. I had the steak and cheddar omelette which comes with cut potatoes which are way better than the generic home fries that I usually get at other places. The omelette was very well done, with generous portions of eggs, cheese and delicious steak. The toast was done Texas style with lots of butter. So good, it didn't need jelly. Worth the price. This is a place I will not forget. View menu

We stayed at the Jellystone park .7 miles away) We didn't call because it was so close. But while we waited to order. The woman at the register did answer the phone and take someone's order. I vote. Don't call. Just go there. It's worth the drive. We arrived during breakfast but we're told we could have lunch too. So we did! It was delicious. Everything was spot on. The service was fast and friendly. The food was so good! Even the kids cleared their plates. There aren't a lot of seats inside. But they also had outdoor seating which suited us just fine since the weather was beautiful. A must go while you're in chincoteague!

I 'm not even sure where to start.... We waited for almost one hour for our food AFTER ordering. They notified us that multiple things we ordered were sold out when they brought our food out so there wasn 't much we could say because we were all starving. Our French toast was made with wheat bread because they ran out of white, and didn 't bother telling us. The entire time we were waiting and eating, we could hear the staff and owner arguing and fussing at each other. Hands down the most uncomfortable experience. To top it all off... NO ONE was apologetic for the experience we had. The owner even tried to charge us FULL PRICE when we didn 't even get all the food we ordered!! After protesti...

"**Pros:** There are plenty of options to choose from, and we even tried their special feature of the day donut. The raspberry and strawberry filled donut was a full-sized treat! I was surprised to find that Sandy Pony offers mini donuts, which was not what I was expecting. At Mr. Whippy, though, the donuts were definitely regular-sized. They were light and fluffy—somewhere between Krispy Kreme and Dunkin'. Personally, I prefer Krispy Kreme, as I find Dunkin' to be a bit too doughy. Mr. Whippy strikes a nice balance, and if I can't get fresh Krispy Kreme, Mr. Whippy does a great job of satisfying my donut cravings! **Cons:** My only minor critique would be that the icing could be a little more refined. While it was quite good, a glaze-like icing would have really elevated the experience! **Overall:** If you're on the hunt for a delicious morning donut or a tasty dessert, Mr. Whippy is the place to be on Chincoteague Island. They only accept cash, but there’s an ATM inside, which is convenient. On the other hand, Sandy Pony Donuts was a bit underwhelming—small, slightly overpriced, and somewhat greasy. I found their donuts to be something I could easily make at home for much less. I was really looking forward to trying the Speck Donut, but it was disappointing, as it felt like there was more donut than bacon. In my opinion, if I had to pick a donut destination on Chincoteague, it would definitely be Mr. Whippy! I didn’t get a chance to try the ice cream, but that will be on my agenda for my next visit to the island!"
