"We were three adults with two (nicely dressed and well mannered) kids at 5 in the evening on a Sunday. The restaurant was 1/2 empty and the rude hostess shoved us at a tall bar table in between a service station and the kitchen door. After asking someone other than the hostess were moved to a regular table. The waitstaff was either overwhelmed or just terribly trained. Service took forever, orders were wrong, and the music was unnecessarily loud. BBQ brisket tasted like it was pounded with a mallet and soaked in liquid smoke. The one good thing I can say about this place is that the onion rings were incredible."

"Me and my wife love it here. Food is great but one small problem with one of the waitresses. We get the same waitress almost everytime we go and we just receive terrible service from her. She's rude and she's slow to get our drinks everytime. We love Ray's. We love the food. The owner is incredible. But this particular waitress makes us not want to go. I'll get her name and update this review when I do. Food: 5"

"As others have mentioned, this restaurant is on the expensive side. It's easy to find yourself paying $30 for a burger if you start adding extra toppings at $2 each. However, by the salad bar, there are excellent complimentary toppings available, such as salsas, pico de gallo, jalapeños, peppers, and onions. Personally, I would recommend skipping the premium toppings except for cheese and instead taking advantage of the free options. That way, the price for a burger or sandwich is quite reasonable. The portion sizes for the sandwiches are quite generous. I tried the grilled chicken, which was juicy and had a delightful grilled flavor. The onion rings were good, though I didn't quite see why they were highlighted as a standout dish; they were just enjoyable. The restaurant was clean, with plenty of staff focused on cleaning tables, clearing plates, and keeping the salad bar well-maintained. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The food arrived quickly—around 8 minutes on a relatively quiet day—and was very fresh."

"I had wanted to dine at this restaurant, but upon arrival, I was informed that they had very limited food available. They were out of two of the three items I planned to order. It was disappointing to find a restaurant that couldn't serve any food. It would have been better if they were simply closed. Additionally, considering it was only two days before Thanksgiving during a holiday week, it was especially perplexing. The service was rated at 1 out of 5."

"We've heard great things about Garlic Press since moving to Midland, and I have to say, I’m quite impressed! The staff were all friendly and attentive, even during the Saturday dinner rush. Our waiter was on top of everything, and our food arrived at just the right time. Everything we ordered was fresh, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully prepared. The scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious, and the risotto was out of this world. The banana pudding cheesecake was undoubtedly one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. The only minor things we didn't prefer were just personal tastes, but even the flavored oil and bread were fantastic. They even served great water! Yes, it is on the pricier side, but I believe it's worth it for a special occasion. I’m looking forward to returning to try more dishes from the menu. Edit: Their brunch is fantastic too!"
