"Visiting from Canada staying at Hotel Beacon, this restaurant was a short walk from our hotel. We were looking for a nice sit down NYC experience and this cozy little Italian restaurant delivered. Truly a 5 star experience. We started with the famous saucy meatballs, shared the fettuccine carbonara and finished with salted caramel gelato. Everything was so fresh and delicious, seasoned and made to perfection, and the service was top notch. The atmosphere was cozy but lively. If we get back to this part of NYC in the future we’d definitely return."

The best wine bar in the Upper West Side! Such a friendly neighborhood joint with an extensive selection of food and wines. My wife and I go here consistently, and we always have a great time.

Some of the rudest servers I’ve ever encountered. I work as a server as well and understand that days are long and customers can be grating but I’d never take it out on a guest. Two stars because I loved the bottle we ordered and the outdoor seating is nice but that’s about it.

My sister and I came to New York for a one night trip and we decided to have dinner at Polpette 71, the food was so good I couldn't stop eating it! The wine was amazing. Go meet Nicky Meatball and his crew they will treat you right and serve you the best meal of your life.Food: 5/5 View menu

Italian restaurant located close to Central Park. We've been there to have lunch on a Saturday, and the place was not crowded what was a relief. We've been quickly seated on a lovely table outside. Everything was great, really no complaints. We've had the limoncello and meatballs to start, and then the Pollo Parmigiana and the Fettuccine Carbonara all great. The manager was lovely with us the whole time.

None of the dishes we ordered are considered nyc good. It’s a family owned restaurant and they probably been in the neighborhood for a long time so I understand they have some pride, and you can see that from the waitress/manager lady’s way of talking. Unfortunately the food quality doesn’t justify it.In general this place feels like a “left behind”. If they ever want to catch up, they need to update their mindset and better the food.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
