"the atmosphere was beautiful, and the staff all very friendly. the appetizers (paper and oxtail ray) were very delicious. the server did not seem to know much about the weeping list and especially they read it back to us when we asked for recommendations. the entrances (salmon and baked flounder) were beautifully decorated, but their aromen did not live until the trim. we had Blueberry-Sabayon for dessert and that was very good. overall, everything was in order, but for the price that we paid expected better than that."

it is a beautiful space when a bit unique. the menu is small, which is good, but if three of the 6 main dishes are steak it seems a bit.

We had our waiter forget to put in our appetizer and we got it after the meal. There were no apologies, it was boxed up and we still had to pay for it. View menu

the culinary adventures last night brought me on a trip to France or should I say in the historic shockoe slip, off cary street, in the heart of downtown.

On a Thursday night it was empty. Main course (rockfish) was delicious, staff was great. Had the carbonara app that was very bad tasting, but they took it off the bill, so overall happy.

I was thrilled to bring two of my best friends to this restaurant because I had so much experience several times before. this time, our waiter still forgets to ask small questions, and I think because there was a big group in another room, our eating was only average. I was disappointed. View menu

best restaurant in richmond, virginia, hands down. we never had a disappointing experience. they love the many steak/meat options. each fish on the menu is always perfectly cooked, dressed and presented. the salmon is wild, bio, rarely found in other places. get a home made desserts, cream brunette, chocolate maus to die for. excellent restaurant.

even if we had an existing open table reservation for 20:30 clock, we were turned away. we arrived at 14:34 a.m. and we had called the restaurant to let them know we were a few minutes too late. they said they had no reservation for us and that the kitchen was closed. About five minutes after our departure we received an email from opentable and asked us why we did not show up for our reservation.

"I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I have to say I was very disappointed in my dining experience at Adarra. It’s difficult to get a reservation there, so once I was able to, I had extremely high expectations. The drinks were excellent, so no complaints there. The food, however, was not. We ordered the toasted almonds, peppers, cheese plate, tuna belly, anchovy dish, tomato salad, and gnocchi. The almonds and peppers were good, although I have to say they were on the simpler side. The tuna belly made me think I was eating quality tuna from a can soaked in olive oil. That’s the best way I can describe it. It was a bit tough and on the dry side, and I didn’t finish it. I don’t usually eat anchovies since I’m not a fan of the typical fishy taste, but was assured that their version wasn’t fishy at all the way they prepare it. I ate a piece or two but couldn’t finish it. Soaking the anchovies in olive oil did not hide the fishy taste. Some people may like that fishy taste, but I definitely didn’t. The cheese plate was okay. The crackers weren’t anything special, and the amount of cheese was pretty minuscule. The tomato salad was actually the only thing I ordered that was delicious, and the only thing we actually finished. After being at the restaurant for almost two hours, the gnocchi had still not come out. We told our waitress we didn’t want it and decided to leave. I heard so many great things about Adarra and had such high hopes. But after such a disappointing meal that we paid over $200 for, we will not be returning."
