"I went to Mooncussers with two friends visiting from out of town. They are not New Englanders, and were charmed by the atmosphere of the old tavern. Our reservation was honored right on time. Our server was a young woman who was very personable and knowledgeable about the beverages and the food. We had had a large lunch, so opted for a light dinner. One of my guests chose the mussels and the cranberry walnut salad. He swooned over the mussels and then went through a whole loaf of bread, soaking up the delicious broth they came in. My other guest had the garden salad with grilled salmon. She asked for several changes to be made in the salad (subtractions and additions), and the server accommodated them all with grace. I chose the starter of a petit filet mignon, served with an egg over rice with bearnaise. It was absolutely delicious, and plenty of food to serve as dinner for me. All in all, each of us enjoyed our experience at Mooncussers Tavern very much and would highly recommend it. I look forward to taking my next houseguests there this weekend!"

"Last night we went to this place and it was phenomenal! I loved everything about it. There wasn’t one thing I did not like. I love the ambience and the quaintness of being in a large Cape Cod home with a glass enclosed porch. I love the linen tablecloths, and the fresh red rose on the table. I love the service. And I went crazy over the Sears scallop dish that I had. I can honestly say I have not tasted scallops that was that good and that flavorful and that sweet and succulent since I was a young girl growing up in New Bedford mass where all the scallops come from. We had a scallop festival every summer. I ordered scallops in Florida where I now live, but they have no flavor whatsoever. And most of the time they divers scallops which are huge and I don’t like the texture and there is no flavor. It was served with couscous which. I chose not to use the sauces that came with it and had them put it on the side. Instead, I had them give me melted butter, which had like a basil garlic , that was excellent to dip my scallops in. My husband ordered the grilled lobster and he said it was fantastic. And it looked it as well. They had a saffron sauce, reduction, potatoes, and asparagus. His flourless chocolate torte which he orders a lot and he goes out to restaurants because he’s diabetic was outrageous. He said it was the best he ever had because it was moist and not dry. I had the strawberry shortcake. I asked them to leave off the mint simple syrup because I don’t like the taste of mint. The only thing I would say about that was it came with a biscuit instead of angel food cake. Personally, I prefer strawberry shortcake with angel food cake. However, the strawberries were fresh and the mascarpone cream, of course was delightful. It also came with a strawberry rhubarb purée on the side. I’m not fond of rhubarb so I wasn’t crazy over that but on the whole it was good! I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Although the gentleman on the phone was polite and the large takeout order only took 40mins on Sunday night of Labor Day Weekend, I found a staple in my pad Thai with tofu and vegetables. Unfortunately I found it in my mouth and thankfully didn’t just swallow the hard piece and instead found it with my tongue. My father ordered fried rice with vegetables and tofu but no tofu found in his dish. Rather minor in the grand scheme of things but finding a staple is unforgivable and I will not be dining here again nor ever recommend it out to anyone I know living here on the Cape. Edit: I see that when you make an edit the restaurants response is deleted. Their response was the following: In regards to the staple you found in your food. A staple is used to secure the top of the paper bag for transporting your food home. According to your attached picture of the staple, the prongs of the staple are 90 degrees meaning the paper bag was abruptly pulled open. The staple would have fallen onto the plastic top and slid onto the edge of the food tin. When you took off the plastic cover it then fell into your food. We will start making a note for customers on all paper bags to take caution when opening-staples are used . Look at the disgusting feedback from the restaurant. Why would I lie about this?! What have I got to gain? There was a STAPLE in my mouth when eating your non authentic Thai food. STEER CLEAR!!!!!"

"Can be difficult to get a reservation so you get what you can in this instance, we had a parking lot view. I know it’s an American dish but I wanted chicken parm and was clear that I wanted it pounded thin. You would think that at any point during the conversation I would he informed that their chicken parm was Bone In (I would have changed my dish). In addition, they now nickel and dime with drinks. For the martinis, we asked for blue cheese olives and they charged 0.50 per olive (3x0.50=$1.50 markup/drink). I had an old fashioned and asked for rye. The waitress gave a few choices and I selected the base option. At the time of the bill, they said this was a modification to their standard drinks so they charged an extra $2. In the past, we have had nice meals at this restaurant but if you’re charging extra for standard modifications, it should be made clear at that time. You are also charging enough for your drinks to not have to nickel and dime your customers. We won’t be back."

"what a great restaurant. the personal is overwhelming. they had only a late time, so we took them. they called me later to say someone who was not shown and said to come earlier. that never happened. the entire staff was the best I ever had to worry about. eating was great. we're coming back."
