"We’ve walked by this place a few times and wanted to give it a try. I grew up in the south and miss the food sooo much. With that being said, I think they missed the mark. I know it’s supposed to be a twist on southern food but we didn’t really enjoy any of it. We ordered cornbread for my son and it was stale, seemed like it was old and had just been heated up. Was not fresh. Sent it back immediately. Ended up getting the guacamole which I thought was expensive for the portion you get $15 (see photo) The Cajun Mac n cheese would have been ok but it was salty. The nachos were nachos. The dirty rice wasn’t really dirty rice. It was ok though. The drinks, server and bartender were great. For the price I expected the quality of food to be better. Mostly disappointed in the cornbread."

This restaurant is quite nice. The food is excellent, while the staff is decent. I brought my two boys, aged 2 and 5, and they were seated near one of the side metal doors. A man appeared to be frustrated when I asked if we could be moved to a different spot.

Whenever I'm in the mood for some good old-fashioned comfort food, Bubba's Bistro is my go-to spot! You can really tell that the Southern dishes are likely based on family recipes. They're rich in flavor and absolutely delicious. Your taste buds will definitely agree!

The best hidden gem in Astoria! The vintage look, partnered with the keen eye service not only makes this place cozy and welcoming but the food is well above any other restaurant on Ditmars Blvd. Rodrigo always goes above and beyond with his recommendations and amazing service. My fiancée and I come here at least once week for brunch/dinner. View menu

Based on the delicious sounding menu options I expected my party of 8 to be very pleased with their meals, but it turned out be a disappointing dinner overall. Alot of money spent for very lack luster food. Chicken was overcooked and dry, cornbread was hard, one order was incorrect. The only tasty item was the Cajun fries. I can only hope it was an off night. Considering their overall reviews. I won't be returning!

What a fantastic hidden gem! We've been to this place countless times without realizing how amazing it is. Now that we've finally checked it out, we really regret not visiting sooner. The Southern comfort food is incredible, and the cocktails and happy hour are top-notch! My sister had a delicious dessert served in a glass that was a real treat. Highly recommend! If you see Rodrigo, make sure to pay attention to his recommendations - they’re spot on. And don't miss the jambalaya!

This place is absolutely incredible! The food is simply out of this world! It’s the first soul food restaurant I've been to where I felt so light afterwards. I love the unique twists they put on their dishes; my taste buds were on a roller coaster ride, and they were thrilled! Daniel, our server, was fantastic—he offered great suggestions and the perfect recommendations for food and drinks. If you dine here, make sure to ask for Daniel; he’ll guide you toward an amazing experience! View menu

This evening, my fiancée and I dined here for the second time and have decided to make it a regular spot. If you enjoy bourbon, the Bourbon Arnold Palmer is a must-try—it's delicious! We ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the Delta Double, both of which were tasty. However, the standout dishes were the ribs and mashed potatoes with gravy; they were absolutely outstanding! Additionally, the service throughout our visit was exceptional. We will definitely be returning many times to explore more of the menu!

We stumbled upon this delightful bistro on a Sunday evening, initially enticed by the $5 Watermelon Sangria, which was delicious, light, and refreshing. Our main server, Alejandra, was full of life, charming, and friendly, maintaining that cheerful demeanor throughout our meal. We enjoyed crab cakes, she-crab soup, jambalaya, and an outstanding homemade chocolate ganache cake for dessert. As an unexpected bonus, our server offered us grilled oysters in garlic butter sauce that another customer had returned. Everything was fresh, perfectly portioned, and absolutely delicious. This place is a hidden gem on Ditmars Boulevard. Don’t miss it!
