"For starters, the ambience is fantastic. The lighting is very relaxing and there's a lot to look at on the walls. Very nice, intricate designs. The staff was very kind and helpful. To go with the chips and dip, we ordered guacamole. The guacamole wasok, nothing standout about it. Honestly, I wouldn't go out of my way to get it again. The dip that came free with the chipswas really good. I preferred it over the guacamole. Chips were pretty standard for a Mexican restaurant. I wish the menu hadmore meals on it for people who really don't know what to order. Going through the list of all the tacos is great, but somepeople might find it hard to narrow down what they really want. I think a few meals with different items would be nice. Also, I think it would make it feel less like a menu from a food truck. (The menu would be perfect for a food truck. I ordered twotacos (the sunnyside up one and the one with pineapple as well as the avocado and cheese enchilada. All items were reallytasty. The enchilada had really refreshing, mild flavors, while the tacos had quite bold flavors. I really enjoyed thebalance of spice on the tacos. We also got a side order of rice, which was pretty much the standard Mexican rice you can findanywhere. I personally felt that the tableside service was unnecessary. The food came out really quickly and the type of foodit is made me feel like it'd work as just ordering, get a number, then grab your food. The service was good, but I reallythought that it wasn't needed in my experience. Definitely recommend trying this place out. I do believe that if they have afood truck that it would be really popular."

The food was tasty, though the fajitas were a bit too salty and the steak was overcooked. Still, the portions were generous enough for two to share. The salsa served with the hot chips was fantastic, and a big thanks to Erin for her attentive service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Came to this restaurant for lunch not really expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the decor, laid back vacay music, and delicious food. We tried the avocado enchiladas, very good. I also had the tacos for lunch. They have a largevariety of tacos. The salsa is fresh, smooth, and so good I could have just had that all day!

I visited this restaurant for lunch, not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by the decor, the relaxed vacation vibe music, and the delicious food. We tried the avocado enchiladas, which were excellent. I also ordered tacos for lunch, and I was impressed by the wide selection. The salsa was fresh and smooth—so tasty that I could have enjoyed it all day long!

Came for lunch one day and it was good. One thing I noticed was the guacamole said on the menu that it would have cilantro in it, but when we got it, there was no cilantro in it. The guacamole was very bland and tasted like it needed more than justcilantro added to it, just saying. Other food was good though and I enjoyed the chips salsa. I?d still come back another time. I believe this places just opened up, but I could be wrong. The food was pretty good and it came out fairly quick. The chips and salsa were very good. The chips were fresh and the salsa had great flavor. The Al Pastor burrito tasted great but the pork was very fatty and hard to eat. The fries, however, we?re pretty good. The staff was pretty friendly. I?d recommend giving this place a try.

Tried them for the first time today and everything was delish. Like everywhere, they are short staffed but they made the best of it. Fresh, hot and fast and customer service was great. I got the street taco trio and street corn. And these churros were absolutely amazing. Crunchy outside but soft chewy inside, cooked perfectly. I didn?t try any of the margaritas but best believe I will be back to try them for sure.

I visited Cantina Louie for lunch one day and overall, it was a good experience. One thing I noticed was that the menu mentioned the guacamole would include cilantro, but when it arrived, there was no cilantro in it. The guacamole was quite bland and seemed to need more than just cilantro to enhance the flavor. That said, the other dishes were tasty, and I really enjoyed the chips and salsa. I would definitely come back to Cantina Louie again. View menu

We had an incredible experience at this restaurant. The decor and wall art were delightful, and the service was among the best we've ever encountered. Our waiter—whose name escapes me—was exceptionally welcoming and attentive. He provided us with fantastic recommendations. The chips and salsa were excellent, and the Mexican corn was simply delightful. The calamari taco was outstanding, and the burrito was tasty as well. However, the true highlights were the calamari taco and the Mexican corn. We will definitely return to our new favorite Mexican restaurant!

"Although I was recently here, I had to drag my hubby out here again to try their amazing Katsu. Since I knew they were short on good seatings, I had to literally drag him out of our house super-early (4:45 pm? for the long 40-minute drive to Matthews! Based on my first experience for lunch, I thought that there might be a waiting list by 5:30 pm, so we arrived early at 5:15 pm. As it goes, we had no problem getting a good seat. It seemed they were more popular for lunch...which made sense, given their amazing lunch specials! My husband ordered the Bento with Chicken Katsu and the side of Sushi Rolls, and I ordered their Katsucurry with Tori Karaage. We also added Popcorn Shrimp as appetizer.Again, their Bento is not typical by any means...as the foods are set in a tray format, and the portions seemed much bigger. The Bento that my husband ordered was basically the same as the one I had for lunch, though he chose the Sushi Rolls over the Popcorn Shrimp. However dinner pricing was obviously higher...but their Bento was a steal...even for 25 bucks. As expected, he loved the Katsu, the Tempura, the whole works. He agreed that it's possibly the best in town...on par with Musashi's. Though highly anticipated, I didn't quite love the Katsucurry with Tori Karaage (AKA crispy chicken pieces . Think I prefer the traditional Chicken Katsu slices over these pieces. Plus, both the Chicken and the Curry tasted a bit bland. Still, I'm glad I tried it...as I was so curious about the Katsucurry with Tori Karaage (my first . Just like before, I LOVED the Popcorn Shrimp appetizer...possibly THE best version of Pocorn Shrimp I've ever had?? I'm definitely going back to the regular Katsu...not the curry version next time.Just as before, the service was really good...Fast, friendly and attentive. I could be wrong, but it seemed their decor changed a bit. New wall art? Though super-casual, the place provides a warm, cozy vibe...and surprisingly for such a casual place, they even had overhead music! Despite my disappointment with their Katsucurry, I still stand by my initial notions that I think they have the best Katsu in Charlotte...and possibly the best, most generous Bento Boxes. We'll definitely be back for more!"
