"I haven't been to Carson's in a bit and decided to go for lunch as it was a beautiful day. The views from their expanded back patio of Saratoga Lake is just so scenic and lovely. There's something to be said about eating outside in a semi covered area thats just so enjoyable. Looking out onto the water as you eat is very relaxing. The staff is friendly and attentive and anticipates when you need an extra moment before ordering as you just can't help staring out onto the water and beyond. We had burgers, a side caesar salad, a house made turkey on rye with mozzarella, boneless chicken bites with onion rings and beer battered fries. Everything came out altogether not too long after. The hot food was served just warm. The temperature on the burgers and chicken bites were definitely not hot enough, and if sent back would be overcooked. Onion rings and beer battered fries were nice, hot and crispy. The house made turkey was nice especially cause you had a choice of breads and condiments to choose from to customize. The menu had fresh mozzarella as a cheese option and the cheese in my sandwich was shredded which made it a little sloppy as it would fall out. Not sure that is a good choice instead of sliced cheese but again that's just my personal preference. Still it was a good sandwich. I like sauce and condiments so whenever there's more it does not go to waste. So dipping sauce for onion rings was yum. The portions are generous so I had some to go as well. All in all a good lunch spot especially for the views!!!"

"I came here for the Saratoga Restaurant Week menu. The location is in Malta. The exterior looks like an old diner, but once inside and seated, I felt very relaxed and comfortable. My server was very pleasant and relaxed, which helped make my meal quite enjoyable. This was a very early dinner, so very few people were here at any given time. The service was very prompt and efficient. I started out with the antipasto skewers, with salami, mozzarella and tomatoes. I really don't like antipasto salads because of the vinegar, and also because I don't like olives or raw tomatoes. But I ate the green parts of the salad, the meat and the cheese. This was the low part of the meal for me, but I could appreciate that it was a good appetizer. The Sole Français was exquisite, with a nice glazy-creamy, lemony sauce, perfectly-cooked green beans and delicious mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the good mix of music being softly piped in...a blend of 70s pop-rock to country, and lots in-between (the good stuff). Dessert was Tuxedo Cake, in this case, a 3-layer, yellow, all-purpose flour cake. One layer was filled with a chocolate cream, another with a white cream, and it was covered with a darker icing of chocolate. Very nice...somewhat dense but not sickeningly sweet like a lot of cakes can be. The coffee was delicious...and that's rare up in these parts. If I lived up in this neck of the woods, I'd be here every week. The more extensive menu offers even more of their interesting dishes. At just $30, this was one of the least expensive of the Saratoga region's Restaurant Week menus. Before I left, I learned that this place is closely connected with Lake Ridge Restaurant down in Round Lake, which happened to be my next stop and is one of my 5 favorite restaurants in the Capital-Saratoga region."
