"I've always wanted to try this place out, because of the historical history behind it. Started in 1948 as a simple lunch style restaurant with counter seating, serving iconic hamburgers, freshly ground daily. What more could you ask for?Located in Downtown Los Angeles, place was clean and decorated nicely in let's say modern 50's decor, missing was the old time counter, facing the open kitchen, watching the cooks preparing your meal, the waitress, running back and forth, serving the patrons seated at the counter. This place does have a counter with bar stools, but they're located up against a wall, opposite of the kitchen. The restaurant itself was built uniquely on a two level floor plan, small dining area immediately to the front, with stairs leading to the second level, where the kitchen and additional table are located. The outside was a different story, with homeless people wandering out on the sidewalk, a distinct odor slightly filled the air, but I won't tell you what the smell was...you'll thank me later!Looking at the menu while ordering, we knew this was going to be a little pricey, but we were ready for it. When we got the final cost for 3 people, it ran close to $70, roughly about $20 to $24 dollars per person, just depending on what you add on to your burger and sides and drinks that you choose. The burgers were top notch, you can tell the meat was of high quality, freshly grounded, fries and onion rings was good. Everything tasted great, just wished that the burgers were a little larger to satisfy our hunger and to justify the high price. Other items on their menu were breakfast items, chicken, pies and shakes. Employees were extremely nice and helpful.I myself would definitely come back from time to time, but if you're on a budget, or a penny pincher, then this place is probably not the best choice for you."

Tried the red velvet and enjoyed a tasty treat not too sweet on the senses. The inside is like a 50's Diner and simply adorable.Food: 5/5

Crazy Fire Chicken is amazing! The food was ready right when they said it would be, and the house mixed soda was fantastic. But the chicken... it's some of the best tenders I've ever had! View menu

The food at this restaurant is simply wonderful. The atmosphere is fantastic, the prices are very reasonable, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Gus adds a special touch to the experience. I highly recommend giving this place a try; you won't be disappointed!

They have a limited menu but do it well. Ate here twice mostly because of convenience but good both times. Definitely an old school burger but they will cook it medium rare. Patty a little burnt from the flat top because that's the way it's supposed to be. Served with lettuce, tomato, pickle like it's supposed to be. Fries not fresh cut but tasty because cooked properly. Milk shake was decent. Wished they opened early for breakfast.

The chicken tenders (5 pieces) were impressively large, incredibly tender, and juicy. The Spicy California Burger wasn't too spicy, topped with cilantro, lime juice, avocado, and a flavorful spicy mayo, adding a nice touch of Mexican fusion. We also ordered the tuna melt, which had a nice crispy toast and fresh tuna salad—a perfect lighter option. The onion rings and milkshakes were decent. Overall, the food was delicious, and I definitely plan on returning to try their desserts next time. Vegetarian options: They offer seasonal items, and the rainbow pasta primavera is a great vegetarian choice. View menu

I love this place. The hamburgers, fries, onion rings all remind me of the best diner food from back in the good old days. In fact it 's rare to find onion rings done properly, so those are highly recommended here. Golden color, perfect texture, done exactly right. They have seasonal items that are special , so it 's a good idea to go in and see what they have, including some great cakes and other desserts. Some might say parking in that area is a little tough but it 's worth going into the store at least once or twice to get an idea of what they have and then you know what to order for delivery or take out.

Not terrible but nothing special either. No disrespect intended but I love me a good burger and expected that based on reviews and images.First off the place has a B food rating so that was a slight red flag, but I still got food.Tried the burger combo.Parking is terrible since it's in the middle of downtown LA.I got lucky with parking but doubt I'd be that fortunate a 2nd time.Spent like 27.00 for a combo that was honestly disappointing.I've had better burger combos for $12Charging almost $20 for their cheeseburger which was the biggest disappointment of the 3 items is a little insulting. Ate most of my food but probably won't be back.Take my review as you will.

"I never leave bad reviews when I can help, but from our experience last night I only had to say for dinner as a whole was so disappointing, the least and after the output it was just a complete bill. if they come here for a nice dinner, they have great food or steaks please skip. go somewhere else food: we ordered the oysters, lobster bisque, bread basket (the btw is) and the tomahawk steak with sides. the entire meal was nothing special, characterized by the fact that even though our server always say that its just come out of the often his hot we have the broth basket roomtemp and the lobster bisque as a think. none of them were served hot. I give these stars only because of the tomahawk steak in the middle well, it was delicious. it was a hope that it would be good, right? we ordered the familiar and the brussels sprouts, but it came out, served on small dust sacks. small portions. a little taste. Note: they no longer serve the special measurable and sauce for any steak order. bummer ambiance service: la boucherie is on the floor of the hotel so that the prospects in the night are amazing. server were nice and polite. they were attentive and very professional. everything in all, if I can turn back the time, I wouldn't be here at all. the evening has lost its elegance and prices do not justify the disappointing food. I hope they can fix this and bring back the old la boucherie charme and aromen."
