"The evening started out great when we arrived and were warmly greeted by name by the wonderful maitre d', Mark Williams. Our Mediterranean Duo appetizer was tasty. My sister ordered the shrimp scampi, but the shrimp was smelly, and not at all to her liking. So, she ordered a charcuterie board. The meats were almost gray and not very fresh at all. It was a very disappointing dining experience, except for Mark Williams."

This restaurant is a fantastic choice to enjoy before heading to see a play at the Alley.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! It is the perfect spot for a meal before heading to the theatre or symphony.

We had Mothers Day brunch just before a Sunday matinee at the Wortham Theatre. Perfect spot to eat at the Theatre district. Surprisingly not crowded. Enjoyed a leisurely brunch. Good service and equally good food.

The restaurant has been updated inside very nicely. The food….very, very, very underwhelming. Crab cakes were dry and under seasoned. Salmon was overcooked and finished with such a confusing melange of flavors that the taste of the salmon was lost. View menu

It was nice to see such a lively crowd there on a weekday for lunch. My salad with shrimp was delicious. It was hard to decide what to order after looking around at everyone's plates everything looked so good. The restaurant is very attractive and a nice size, kind of cozy, but not crowded.

Cultivated F+B at The Lancaster Hotel is our favorite for pre-theater dining. Come for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. Food, service, ambience is consistently five star. Location and parking is convenient to Jones Hall, Alley Theater, and Wortham Theater. As a bonus, The Lancaster Hotel is also our favorite boutique hotel in the city.

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
