The pupusas were decent, but not outstanding. The service was quite slow, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. It could also use a good cleaning.

Came in for Sunday lunch. It took a while, but the food was great. The beef stew, plantains, pork tamales, and pork and cheese pupusas all were perfect at our table.

Only Pupusa place I've seen so far in North County, and they do not disappoint! If you've had pupusas before, I know you'll try em out. If you haven't, DO IT! You can never go wrong with stuffed, fried dough View menu

The pupusas were exactly what I wanted. The pork tamale was a little greasy, but the variety of great foods on one dish made up for it. The waitress gave us realistic expectations of the food wait time, and was super helpful with recommendations. Greatplace, I will return.

"The food here is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the service is very friendly. I dined in for dinner, and my meal cost about $20-30 per person. I would rate the food and service as a perfect 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere a solid 4 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Sampler Platter, Pupusas with cheese, Camarón with cheese, Fried Plantains, Salvadoran Horchata, and Tamales."

We stumbled upon this restaurant prior to going to the theater on a date. The ambiance was perfect and almost every table was taken which indicated that this place was a hidden gem. Our server, the daughter of the owners, was so awesome; she gave us very helpful tips on what to order and was so sweet. The food was delicious! And plentiful! I can't wait to go back there and to bring others to experience this place! View menu

Terrible service. The Salvadorian food is not good at all. I would advise you to avoid this place. The pupusas are plentiful, but the fries are not tasty and the beef has a strong Spanish influence that I found unappealing. Overall, I'm not a fan of the Salvadorian dishes here. The fries at Cuscatlan Salvadorian Cuisine can't compare to In-N-Out, and I wasn't impressed by the Salvadorian beef either. I would much rather choose In-N-Out or Hanoo Kalbi instead.

A hidden gem in Escondido! The atmosphere is fantastic, the service is incredibly friendly, and the food is delicious. I was thrilled when I first tried Cuscatlan, and now it's the go-to spot I take all my friends. Not only is the food tasty and satisfying, but it's also affordable. I highly recommend the Chan for its unique and refreshing flavors. The chipotle chicken pupusa has the perfect amount of spice, and the revueltas is a classic you can't miss! I've also had their pizza, and it's outstanding.

"We had been talking about this place so much since our first visit we had to come back and this time bring my sons with us. Walked in to expect the same great food and service as before. The waitress or owner wasn't friendly at all, we asked for shakes and after seeing my kids shakes arrived I added one. For myself which she seemed bothered with and told me it would take a while, which of course was fine since we weren't in a hurry. My kids order tenders and fries and I order a burger. I wanted a simple burger and asked her which one she recommended if Since i only wanted an original burger with out bbq sauce or mushrooms which her menu stated the burgers had, she seemed so annoyed and said well it tells you right here( again it said bbq and mushrooms) I place my order, after that she seemed a little less upset and was more welcoming but by then she had already ruined my experience. Still we thanked her and were happy and figured she was just having a bad day, but after being rude to us and not welcoming she still added a 20% tip to our tab which any other time wouldn't have been a problem but today with that service, and not being told from the beginning that they add 20% for parties of 3 or more it wasn't worth it. The food was good and the kids loved the shakes but being that we were the only guest there and she was still upset, I can't imagine the service given on a busier day."
