The cocktails are fantastic, and the food is quite good. It's not exactly as I remember from my grad school days in the early 2000s, but it's a great place for an afternoon brunch and some Negronis.

The food here is excellent! However, there aren't many vegetarian options available. I really enjoyed the pistachio pasta and green beans, which were beautifully presented. Just a heads up, the chicken parmesan didn't come with pasta.

Recognized as the best bar in the world for several years, the Negroni happy hour here is unparalleled. The Italian food at their original location in Greenwich Village is excellent, and they also offer some of my favorite cocktails in the city. View menu

This place has some AMAZING cocktails! I highly recommend the Dante Martini. I initially came for the espresso martini, but I found the dessert cocktails to be less enjoyable. The food is good, but the cocktails definitely take center stage here.

However, the service left something to be desired. We had to request our coffee multiple times. I envy all the other reviewers who got to enjoy those incredible-looking cocktails because we never received a drink menu. At one point, they tried to clear our plates while we were still eating, which felt rushed, yet we had to ask for the bill numerous times. Despite the inconsistent service, I would definitely come back!

I absolutely loved Dante! If I ever move to NYC, I'll make sure to live within walking distance of this place. They have an incredible selection of Negronis, and during brunch, you can't miss the delicious frothy orange and grapefruit juice. I was fortunate to find a seat at the bar without a reservation, but I felt lucky considering how busy they are on weekends. It's definitely a good idea to make a reservation. What can I say about this iconic restaurant? The cocktails were definitely worth trying, but I have to be honest—the food didn't meet my expectations. The cheeseboard seemed like it could have come from Trader Joe's (and I do love Trader Joe's), yet it was extremely overpriced. The lamb flatbread was decent, while the shrimp salad was just average. I gave it 3 stars mainly because the service was truly disappointing. I visited for lunch when the place was not busy and appeared to be well-staffed, but our server was nowhere to be found during our meal.

My wife and I decided to have dinner at Cafe Dante for Thanksgiving this year (2023), and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The food was excellent, but what truly distinguished our visit was the immaculate ambiance and the exceptional service! The staff was incredible, and their warmth and friendliness on a night when they might have preferred to be with their own families spoke volumes about the establishment. They graciously let us stay for a few hours while we waited to meet some friends, and their kindness made our entire visit enjoyable. This has become our new favorite spot, and we can’t wait to return!

Initially, we were informed that they don’t serve just coffee and desserts. We could only stay if we ordered appetizers and were okay with sitting outside in December. I ordered steamed mussels, four cappuccinos, and mentioned that I’d prefer dessert instead of an appetizer for myself, as I had just eaten dinner. The waiter seemed irritated by my request and replied, “It’s a restaurant, you know? We don’t serve just drinks and desserts.” After that, we barely saw him for the next hour, as if he wanted nothing to do with us. A couple seated next to us left, having been treated similarly.
