"My recent experience at El Patron Authentic Mexican Restaurant left much to be desired. Despite their claim to authenticity, the absence of fresh jalapeños with our meals was disappointing. Even more so, all four dishes we ordered were accompanied by pickled jalapeños, a glaring departure from the norm among authentic Mexican eateries in Memphis. Additionally, the cheese used in their dishes didn’t resemble anything close to authentic Mexican cheese. It’s perplexing how a restaurant can brand itself as “authentic” when it fails to uphold the most fundamental aspects of Mexican cuisine. Overall, my dining experience was a letdown, and I wouldn’t recommend El Patron to those seeking genuine Mexican flavors."

The best queso I've ever had! I’m visiting Memphis from Miami, and this place is definitely worth the trip to the suburbs. It's a charming converted house located right by the train tracks.

The food was outstanding, and the drinks were strong in the late evening. Due to the size of the property, seating and parking are limited, but the atmosphere is very pleasant. My only complaint is that I wish they had the model train operating on its tracks.

Slow service. Food was just meh. I asked did my dish come with grilled peppers and onions and was told that it did. When my dish arrived, there were no I peppers and onions. I waited a while for them. I was then charged an additional $1.99. Chips didn'thave any salt and the salsa was just so-so. There is a reason I had been to this restaurant only once in nearly 20 years. Iwon't be returning. View menu

I took my gf there last night for her birthday dinner. The quality and quantity of food and drinks we got for what I paid was excellent! I complain often about restaurants serving just ok food but for ridiculous prices. I don 't care about price so long as the quality and quantity of the food matches the price. If it doesn 't I won 't be back. I was not disappointed by El Patron! Every thing we had was outstanding. We will be back! Thank you! :

My visit to El Patron Authentic Mexican Restaurant was a letdown. The absence of fresh jalapeños was a glaring disappointment, especially considering that no other authentic Mexican restaurant in Memphis serves pickled jalapeños. This oversight detracted significantly from the dining experience and left me questioning the authenticity of the restaurant’s claim. When a basic element of Mexican cuisine is missing, it’s hard to consider the establishment truly authentic. For those seeking genuine Mexican flavors, El Patron falls short of expectations.

"Quality not what it used to be. A year ago or so I wrote a reviewing liking this location. We got our usual to go this time (much like other times) and when my husband got home I was incredibly dissapointed. He said they were busy and looked disarrayed but it doesn't give them an excuse for giving us ****. The bartender ignored my husband when he tried to tell them he was there to pick up and saw the order come out and only after our order was sitting there for a while did he finally ask what he was there for. Now that's whatever as long as this pregnant lady gets her food. I eagerly open the box and what do I find? A few sweet potato fries, the avocado smothered on the burger soaking the bun, and no pickle. The bun was falling apart as soon as I tried to pick it up so I ate it with a fork and knife. Even the sauce cup barely had any sauce but enough I guess for the meager portion of fries I got! This makes me sad as we're regulars. That will no longer be true.<br/ <br/ <br/ 01 Aug, 2014 <br/ <br/ West coast burger sweet potato fries. I have gotten the west coast burger and sweet potato fries every single time I've gone there and my boyfriend has now copied my choice. I'm sure the other burgers are good too but if I have a craving for Huey's, that's what I get. Their onion rings are also good and huge but they are the type that the onion slips straight out of the breading. The lemon box cake thing made me very happy. If you want to go to any Huey's, the midtown location is the one to go to! Don't go to the downtown site. They were really rude both times we stopped by to get a to go order when we were on our bikes."
