"Had a wonderfully tasty meal there recently with a group of friends. The appetizers and entrees were all fantastic, fresh and full of interesting taste pairings. The Humboldt Fog was impeccably served, as was the Hen of the Woods. Entrees were hearty and delicious. The service was a little off; we were disappointed to have been stuck in the lounge (read: bar) area despite having made reservations a month in advance. The main dining area was much prettier. Our waiter was competent but never cracked a smile, didn 't try to explain any specials or menu items to us. The oddest thing was when he brought our cocktails to the table one by one, as they were being made by the bartender. Correcting small details like this will elevate Ella 's immensely. Been wanting to try Ella’s for the past couple years and finally had the opportunity. Was a nice dining experience. Comfortable relaxed atmosphere with upscale pricing. We started with leek and mussels which was excellent. Very fresh and tasty. For meals we had the venison special and a shrimp scampi. The venison was exceptional. The scampi was over spiced for the average person but I like spicy so it was fine. We finished with coffee and a couple deserts, cheesecake and crème brûlée. The crime brûlée was exceptional. The cheesecake was underwhelming. The ice cream they topped it with was very good. A nice night out, fantastic service and not rushed. We will certainly revisit.
