"Ok so if you want some seriously good food AND service, you need to stop here. Got the Land Sea combo 1/2 rack ribs with Fried Whitefish, DELISH!!! It was busy, only 3 servers on they dominated. No waiting, no asking for extra napkins etc, they anticipated our needs before we even knew what we needed. We will definitely be back next time we “Go North”. Even had Fred himself stop by our table to say hi, you just can’t find that kind of welcome in most eating establishments anymore. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thanks for a great meal!"

Best white fish I've had in a long time, perch was good too. Very good homemade tartar sauce. The owner Fred came over and talked with us, really nice guy. Definitely recommend the white fish.

The service is quick and friendly, and the food is incredibly delicious. The white fish served on Friday nights is the best I've had. It's a fantastic spot for a family dinner, where you can enjoy drinks and let the kids play a few games of bowling.

Fr d's was recommended by a friend, and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much that we ended up going there two days in a row. The fried whitefish was delicious, and the chicken wings paired perfectly with the cold beer. I would highly recommend it to everyone! View menu

Our server Christine was great, helped us with our menu choices. We picked a fish fry combo, that my husband and I shared. Which consisted of a variety of fresh water fish, including white fish, walleye and perch! With two sides, we chose clam chowder and baked potato. The entire meal was absolutely incredible as well as our server, Christine! The service was second to none! Everyone was so friendly, it truly made our experience at Fred's a pleasant one! We plan to come back when we're in Michigan!

We had an amazing experience at the Friday night fish fry! Christina was incredibly patient with our group of 12, and our food was hot and delicious. We ordered the Perch and White Fish Combo, which was cooked to perfection. The portions were very generous—if I hadn't shared with my parents, I definitely would have finished the entire dish myself! The cocktails we ordered were also a great size and well worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Saint Ignace in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

"My visit there was 8/20/2023. I had no idea the portions was HUGE. This place is absolutely the best after spending a day on Mackinac Island. I ordered the Salmon, lobster mac cheese, n a cranberry/oj drink and had water too. The lobster mac and cheese was huge portion for 1 person. I had to take home leftovers from the dinner. The service was good. The only issue I had is my salmon. It comes with some spicy sauce added on. I had asked they do not put it on there. Yet, it came out with it on. Be aware of the 4% transaction fee you 'll be charged for using your card and that can be expensive. My charge was 1.85 for that 4%. I work in the EFT (ie electronic fund transfer...another words...payments) industry. With inflation and all....4% for a transaction fee i think is a bit much. I know there 's a fee per transaction that Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Discover charge, but it 's not 4%. There are additional charges that the fee is for and the merchant should for non-transparency identify the REAL charges for the fee is. Because of the wording on the receipt non cash adjustment to someone who doesn 't know EFT world would have no idea what that means. It references the 4% customer service charge. Furthermore, calling it that is to me thinking it 's more of a tipping charge. Again, bad customer presentation. Thus, why I gave my overall experience a 3 n not a 5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: 50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
