"The staff at Hook Reel were friendly and the waiter was very attentive. I was surprised by the unique seafood served in a bag and wasn’t quite sure how to eat it right away. It would have been helpful if the busboy had opened it and explained, but the waiter politely came over to do so—thank you! The seafood was delicious overall. My husband enjoyed his seafood pasta, while my kids had french fries, although they found them a bit too oily. I also want to highlight the amazing non-alcoholic mango piña colada—thanks to the bartender for that! My family and I really liked the restaurant’s interior, especially the kids who loved the paper tablecloths. Plus, the clean restroom was a great extra touch."

The clams were fantastic! Although the lobster tail was a bit small, it was overall well-cooked, and the sauce was a perfect 10/10.

The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. We celebrated my mom’s birthday dinner here.

It is one of the good venues with delicious seafood in neighborhood. Place is spacious and nicely designed. Seafood is good quality and not expensive. I recommend to visit .

I always have a fantastic dining experience here! Everything tastes amazing, and I've never been disappointed. My only suggestion would be that the crab legs could be larger, as I prefer bigger ones over smaller ones. View menu

I went to Hook Reel for lunch with a friend, and everything we ordered was delicious. The sauces were all excellent. We enjoyed calamari, shrimp, mussels, and crab legs. I have no complaints—just a very satisfied appetite.

First time here. I read the reviews and played it safe with crab fries. They have happy hour specials on Sundays which is a pleasant surprise. We sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive. The football game was on the screen. Music played in the background. I would go back and try the crab boil.

I had dinner with my family at a restaurant where we had a reservation for 6:30 at table 15 for seven people. Our waitress, Phylicia P, delivered outstanding customer service. The food arrived promptly, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I highly recommend the waffle sweet potato fries and calamari—both were fantastic! Everything on the menu looked appetizing. Thank you, Phylicia, for making our experience so enjoyable. We all left feeling full and satisfied. Thank you, Hook and Reel, for opening in Brooklyn! View menu

We had the nicest waiter... I think his name was Hassan. He was on top of the game with all of our food and refill needs.Food was delicious. Shrimp and cajun fries was yum with giant crispy shrimp... but only after it had to be sent back. Had to wait 20 extra mins to get fresh fries...The seafood boil with crab legs, corn on cob, big head off shrimp and clams was super yum. Cool presentation of those big blown up bags ...Took 1 star off, as the Diet Pepsi was flat and was told the iced tea had sugar in it. Bathroom was dirty too.

We had a fantastic experience with our waiter, Hassan, who was very attentive to our food and drink needs. The food was delicious, especially the shrimp and Cajun fries, although we did have to send the fries back and wait an extra 20 minutes for fresh ones. The seafood boil, which included crab legs, corn on the cob, shrimp, and clams, was also delightful, and the presentation in large bags was quite unique. However, we deducted one star due to the flat Diet Pepsi and being informed that the iced tea contained sugar. Additionally, the bathroom was not clean.

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
