"Great experience at Hooked for Valentines. Everyone from the host to the servers were super friendly and seemed to be enjoying their work. Food was delicious. We enjoyed the flounder, shrimp scallop wontons with a bite of ginger. The flounder was cooked perfectly with a nice sauce and capers. Be sure to try the pimento cheese grits. They’re a nice take on boring ole cheddar grits. Key Lime pie rounded out the meal with a zing. Freddie was our server and he was terrific. Very personable, was able to offer culinary commentary for us in the meal, and gave us some visitors recommendations to boot. Fun evening in a fun atmosphere with delicious food. Reservations suggested!"

We had a wonderful experience at Hooked! They were terribly busy, and our food took a while to get out, but they made sure we had everything we needed and the food was DELICIOUS! We will definitely come back!

Valentines dinner at Hooked was great. Presentation was fantastic and food was good. Service was fantastic and all the staff seemed liked they enjoyed their job. Grouper I had seemed slightly over cooked but I would go back and give a this restaurant a second chance for sure. View menu

Very impressive seafood compound in a favorable location. We went at 6:00 and there was a lot of space to buy when we left at 7:00, it was packed and a queue emerged. Children are welcome and a simple children's menu is available, but the starters and the net in the normal menu are the stand-outs. Mussels were particularly good.

2nd time at Hooked- first experience was a little better. We came for valentines day- Server was awesome. Food- not as much. All the fish we ordered was overcooked, some more than others. It was a packed house that evening so the kitchen was probably stressed. Waitress replaced one dish with the tuna poke- which was fresh and very good. View menu

We were promptly seated at a table with a view of the market. Our server quickly brought us water and took our drink and appetizer orders. He was very attentive and welcoming. The food was outstanding; we enjoyed ceviche and roasted green tomatoes, along with a side of fries for my son who loves pickles. It was the best we've ever had! We're definitely coming back! The atmosphere and service were exceptional, and the food was truly remarkable.

Spur of the moment, trip to Charleston for Valentines Evening. This restaurant was one of the few with last minute reservations. We were more than pleased! Very Good food, taste and presentation! Excellent service, we think our service was named Sally or maybe Sara... She was a day time server at hooked and also workers at another restaurant part time. She was attentive, helpful and fun! She helped make our last minute valentines celebration memorable

"I just have one word that describes my experience here. WOW It was an absolute experience coming here. We were in town for my birthday and decided to eat here for my bday dinner/last night in Charleston. The vibe and atmosphere were classy, fun, and calming. They have a main bar area where you can grab a drink while you wait for a table and can be quite lively later in the evening. The dining rooms are towards the back, a lot quieter and more intimate so has a flavor for whatever you are into. The service was absolutely perfect. Our server (I wish I would have gotten her name she served our party of two at 10pm on Saturday 8/17) was so insanely friendly and personable. She knew her stuff and then some when it came to presenting the menu, but also would come chat with us and give us tips and recs for Charleston as she knew we were from out of town. They also gave us a free cheesecake and glasses of champagne on the house for our celebration. Just overall made us feel incredibly special and welcomed (we don't normally eat at places like this lol). The food, omg.....I am not overstating or being hyperbolic.......this was hands down without a doubt the greatest steak I have ever had in my life. Nothing even comes close. I had the Dry Aged Ribeye, and it has completely ruined steak for me because nothing will ever be that good. My girlfriend got the Filet, and it was in the same ballpark. Just legendary. We also got a side of the lobster Mac Cheese and it was fluffy with a perfect crust on top. Amazing flavor and texture. If you ever have the opportunity to dine, do yourself a favor and go. This was one of the best dinner experiences I have ever had. Thank you for making it a wonderful experience to the wait staff, the chef, servers, everyone there played a part and gave me a memory I will hold onto forever. Thank you!!"

"My fiancé and I were engaged on 12/22/17 and he planned our solemn dinner with Circa 1886, and it was nothing less amazing. Charles was our waiter and delivered the best service we had ever experienced. The next day we even called the restaurant to rave over our experience. The service was like a clockwork, but we were not rushed. Our glasses were never half empty and our cutlery was replaced by any course. We received free champagne regularly $34/glass) and customized congratulation menus to start the meal. All the questions we had on the menu were answered and Charles gave great suggestions for meals. I ordered the Intermezzo cocktail and my fiancée ordered the famous Scotch cocktail, both were great. We ordered the scallops and the beets and chèvre as starters. The scallops were cooked for perfection. Very buttery and melt in your mouth - I wish more than 2 came on the plate! The beet and the Chèvre were exquisite with cool goat cheese sauce. We ate every bite. 2 bite-sized free snacks were provided by the cook - one was a spoon with a cheese cube, almond and cherry, the other was a divided Lima bean soup. YUM. As for dinner, my fiancée did the 5 courses tasting menu beef pate, heirloom tomato salad, pheasant, lamb, pumpkin soap) and he enjoyed everything. The portions were generous and Charles gave me additional plates so that I could choose the different dishes. I ordered the triple potato gratin I am vegetarian and it was from this world. Very sweet and delicious. Charles then surprised me with a free dessert course of the Smores). Both plates were decorated with congratulations in chocolate - it was a very special note. When we included the $200 check with a generous tip) we felt like the experience and the food was worth 100% the money. We will definitely be back and would recommend everyone and everyone."
