"We were in a not so great mood, b/c we had just spent an hour trying for a parking spot at Perkins Cove for a meal. Drove to York and stopped at this gas station just to use the bathroom. What a sweet surprise when we walked in! The place is quirky with all kinds of things going on coffee shop, bakery, deli, general store, wood fired pizza yes they were putting pizza in the flames right there! We ended up splitting the crispy haddock sandwich and it was huge as well as delicious. We took a chocolate Whoopie pie to split for later, but I couldn’t wait more than 5 minutes to eat my half as we traveled to Camden for the night. Excellent chocolate cake with a generous amount of sweet filling. This stop at Anthony’s fulfilled our goal of traveling with no plan except for happening upon surprise spots along the way. My husband and I heartily recommend Anthony’s Food Shop."

"I was not impressed with this place due to the service we received. The food was good but not good enough to make up for the overall meh experience we had. We asked to sit outside and told there was a wait. No problem as this was to be expected on a Saturday. We were told we could order drinks while we waited through a server outside. It took about 15 minutes for someone to come up and ask if we wanted a drink, then it took another 20-30 minutes for us to get that one glass of wine….and they was after my husband tried to order at the bar and then had to track down another server to eventually get the glass of wine. For food we ordered the crab rangoons which were good but a very heavy appetizer. In hindsight I guess we should be happy with the heavy app since my meal was ruined. My husband and I decided to split the burger and I very clearly asked for the sauce on the side as I do not enjoy a Big Mac sauce. Our server said no problem and they could accommodate that. Upon receiving our burger it had the sauce on it and it was covered in that sauce. We waited 5-7 minutes and no one came to ask how our food was. At that point I told my husband to go ahead and eat bc I didn’t want his meal to be ruined. After about 5 minutes (10-12 minutes since our food was dropped) our server came over to see how everything was. They offered to give us a dessert for free, however what I wanted was my burger how I ordered it and when it should have been delivered. I did not want a free dessert when my meal was ruined. They did not offer to take anything off the bill. The overall experience was meh and I do not think waiting 30-40 minutes for a $17 glass of wine that was half poured and another 30 minutes for an incorrect entree is acceptable. The only pro was how accommodating they were for our dog on the patio."

"What a find! I was not expecting much in this small town, and when I pulled into the strip mall location I expected even less, but what a surprise! Beautiful restaurant, lovely smells coming from the open kitchen, warm lighting. The food is very high quality and fresh with a nice menu. Service felt like family restaurant. The people dinning there all seemed happy to be there, as were we. I would highly recommend this place, and support it. They do a great job here."

"If you are ever near York Beach, ME, you MUST stop and enjoy this darling restaurant. It 's like a delightful step back to the hospitality of the '60 's. We sat at a small table by a window with a little lamp which provided soft light and a quaint touch. Our server was very sweet and she offered her favorites when we asked for recommendations. My husband and I let ourselves enjoy their decadent sundaes made with homemade ice cream which they are known for. *There is a full menu to choose from. And there is also a little gift area which features a large case filled with delectable chocolates. Highly Recommend!!"

"The soup mixes are the best. Healthy, Convenient, and taste great. I improvise and heat the liquid ingredients in the microwave and I then add the remainder of the ingredients and cook in a crockpot on low. You can also modify the add ons. For example, I used spinach instead of escarole for the wedding soup. I added the fresh spinach at the end in a bowl, poured on the soup and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Delicious. Going to get more of the mixes during your sale."
