"Food was amazing and service was ok. They do charge you a fee for credit card but I am ok with that because many places do now. What i am not happy is the automatic gratituty of 20%. I pay 20% regardless no matter what and they had they had the audacity to charge me 20% plus asked me for another 18-24% tip underneath from total price not even from sub total. I almost paid tip twice. What upset me more is this is the only restaurant business in hicksville that charges you 8.75% not 8.625% and only place that charges you 3% of gratituty cc fee. Like i said, cc fee is ok but it is wrong to charge the gratituty fee as well on top of that asking for total tip from price not from sub total. Totally not cool like i said food is good good portion service is just same as other restaurants but this place is doing something shady for sure"

Went for my birthday, not going back or recommending the restaurant to anyone. Very greedy, portions small, not the best service and at he end large tip already charged in your bill!!

Quaint spot, great food and service, fun, casual atmosphere and music. Perfect to celebrate any occasion. In my case it was a family birthday! We cane from Jersey and it didn't disappoint! Recommend!! View menu

The recipes and the chef have changed. No longer the same welcoming place. Was not advised my food selection was no longer available (arroz con mariscos) and was substituted without being asked for Chaufa de mariscos. After more than 4 years eating there I will hesitate to return.

Peruvian cuisine is one of my favorites, and Jalea Peruvian Cuisine is a wonderful discovery. Each dish truly showcases authentic Peruvian flavors. The ceviche is a standout and definitely worth trying. The welcoming service enhances the overall dining experience. This place is a true gem for anyone seeking Peruvian food in Long Island.

I have to say, I was really impressed. The prices were typical of Manhattan, but the food was outstanding. Flavor: 10/10! We brought our toddler along, who usually only eats plain white rice, but this white rice was packed with flavor! The Chaufa was delicious, and the octopus was incredible—we polished off the entire plate. I would definitely come back! View menu

The chicken at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic, and you definitely should try their delightful green rice, which is full of flavor. The green sauce that comes with it adds an extra touch of deliciousness. Unfortunately, I can't give a full five-star rating because I had a disappointing experience with the Jalea dish. The shrimp and crab weren't cleaned properly, which was quite off-putting. Additionally, the fish fillet had a strong fishy taste that I didn't enjoy. Sadly, I won't be ordering this dish again in the future.

Wanted to try out the local Peruvian spot and the food was great. Ordered a jalita, some ceviche, maduros, white rice, and wifey got a margarita. Everything tasted great. But I will say the place is pricier than expected. The jalita was a really small portion and that was $15. The ceviche was like $30. Bowl of rice was $8. Aside from price, the food was really tasty. Wifey loved the ceviche and I was impressed by the jalita. I most likely won’t order rice again, especially not for $8. Service was fine. Place was small but was seated right away.
