"This cozy restaurant is nestled among a diverse array of eateries. It probably has about 12 tables, and the lighting is dim but bright enough to read the menu and see your dining companions. The music plays softly in the background, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The tables are set for two or four, and while they could combine a few for larger groups, we appreciated being able to hear each other without raising our voices. The menu is slightly smaller than the average Italian restaurant, but it offers enough variety to satisfy carnivores, vegetarians, and pescatarians alike. After we placed our orders, a basket of bread and a small bottle of olive oil were brought to our table. We chose a glass of Chianti, which was reasonably priced compared to other places. To start, we shared a tricolor salad, which was more than enough for two and beautifully presented. We also shared the grilled calamari with zucchini, which was cooked to perfection—absolutely delicious! I found myself soaking up the leftover olive oil on the plate with my bread. For our main courses, my husband chose the paccheri alla norma, which featured rigatoni with cubes of eggplant in a tomato sauce that wasn’t overly saucy, a welcome surprise—complete with dry-aged ricotta that was more textured than the creamy version you find at the store. He loved it. I opted for the eggplant parmesan appetizer, which was served as a square about 2-3 inches on each side. The eggplant was showcased beautifully, not hidden under sauce and cheese. We were both pleased with the portion sizes, as they were filling but not so much that we couldn’t finish—just right. Additionally, the flavors, textures, and service impressed us. The dining room was busy, but our waiter handled every table with a friendly demeanor. Though we initially didn’t plan to order dessert, the waiter presented us with the menu, and we found ourselves indulging in their outstanding almond chocolate flourless cake, served with a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream—absolutely worth it! This was our first meal here, but we will definitely be back. The prices are reasonable, the food and service are excellent, and the ambiance is pleasant and quiet. With an abundance of wine options available both by the glass and bottle, this local gem is worth a visit even if it requires a longer walk. Buon appetito!"

The air conditioning was insufficient for the summer heat. Additionally, my server didn't offer freshly ground pepper or grated cheese. View menu

Incredible hospitality, matched with incredible food for the price. If you 're looking for that secret low key hole in the wall with great food this is it. Extraordinarily tender short ribs, perfectly aldente pasta, and a selection of deserts that managesto satisfy those of us at the table with a sweet tooth, without being too overbearing for those without. Highly recommended, definitely worth a revisit for us! View menu

Stopped by for dinner on restaurant week.. I don't know how to review this establishment. My friend and I ordered separately. I didn't try her mini meatballs or her pasta but her meatballs looked and smelled delicious. I had some bread, maybe 3 bites of her tiramisu and my salmon. She was OK but I got pretty sick that night. I'm not sure what exactly the cause was for me to get sick but it felt like mild food poisoning.

Belly's 23rd! After poor luck across the street, we came across this empty restaurant tucked away in Turtle Bay. After seeing a figure slowly retreat into the dark recesses of the establishment from the window, we decided to follow. The waiter was eager to have customers after a quiet day, and provided a story or two with great service. Some yappers walked in later and the venue was suddenly a bit more vibrant... Beare got the salmone and Belly got the braised short-rib, both paired spectacularly with the white wine. To celebrate Belly's big day, a complimentary panna cotta was served (yum).

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
