"We were passing through the area and decided to check out the tacos here out of curiosity. Honestly, we were pleasantly surprised! The al pastor is prominently displayed in the prep area, which is the first thing you notice when you walk into this cozy restaurant—what a fantastic touch! Be sure to try the shrimp tacos de plancha and the tacos de volcán if you're feeling adventurous. As a self-proclaimed taco de lengua enthusiast, I can confidently say that theirs quickly became one of my top three lengua options! The al pastor is wonderfully sweet and bursting with pineapple flavor; I love a good sweet and spicy combo, so I was all in. The asada, arrachera, michelada, and horchata were also very good. They serve Modelos, Pacificos, and Victorias as well. If you're in the area, make sure you don't miss this spot!"

The food was exceptional, and the staff was fantastic. I live a 40-minute drive from Highwood, but I would gladly make the trip just to dine here. The tacos were outstanding, and the asada quesadilla was equally impressive.

This restaurant is amazing, just like other Mexican places in the area, and I highly recommend trying their tacos. The al pastor is particularly authentic, and all the taco options are delicious. The volcano dish is also outstanding, so I suggest giving that a try too. View menu

The Mexican food here is fairly average, but the prices are fair. The Al Pastor is definitely the highlight of the menu. Unfortunately, the basic beef and steak fillings are just okay and fall short in terms of the bold flavors I was expecting. Overall, the spices don't deliver the kick I was hoping for.

The food here is exceptionally fresh and healthy. The owner is welcoming, and I enjoy supporting such kind individuals. The dishes are among the best you'll ever taste, all offered at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is delightful, located in a lively city that resembles a Hollywood movie set. It's a nice drive to Highwood, and the city itself is filled with color and charm.

What a wonderful little taco spot! It's cozy enough for me to comfortably call it a joint. Their menu mainly consists of tacos and burritos, but they also have drinks (like GRAPEFRUIT JARRITOS) and chips. The tacos are fantastic and fairly priced. The asada is superb, the al pastor is delicious, and the grilled shrimp are incredible. They occasionally have some timing issues, as there are only two or three staff members handling the busy periods, but they've made a lot of progress lately. If you're in Highwood and in the mood for some great tacos, be sure to check this place out!

"I went to Froggy's the other night with a friend for a midweek dinner. It is definitely not the first time I've been there, but it may be the last. First of all, The servers were really in the weeds and seemed to be really understaffed. I understand that it gets busy, and things get delayed. Nothing really got delayed, but we were looking for them a lot for water and stuff. Secondly, but most importantly, was the food. The oysters we had were good and fresh. However, their escargot variation was weird, especially with the peapods. They were out of anchovies for the ceaser salad, but after tasting it, I don't think they use anchovies in the dressing. The flavor of their dressing along with the raw shaved beet was not good. Our main courses were just not good. I ordered the Bouillabaisse and it was terrible. It was like a weird tomato-based sauce with over cooked proteins. The lobster has no meat in the tail, and their was no lobster meat added, as the server described in the special. Not only the weird sauce, no toast points or Rouille... They served it with mashed potatoes and vegetables that stuck out like a sore thumb. On top of that all, my mussels weren't de-bearded... I couldn't eat them. The desserts weren't any better. We had the passion fruit mousse and the poached pear. The mousse had a strange texture, like they didn't allow whatever gelatin mixture they used to set up correctly. The taste was ok, but got drowned out by the raspberry sauce. On the poached pear, where is the pear? All I tasted was poaching liquid and that's it. For the price and quality, there are tons of better French options around the area. I guess if I feel like normal french cuisine, that a true Frenchman would be proud of, I will across the tracks and down the street to the other French option. Honestly, I think they are way passed their prime and need to revamp everything before I come in again, especially their menu and quality.
